Job Description

UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is a renowned healthcare institution dedicated to providing exceptional medical care and support to women and their families. As part of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) system, Magee-Womens Hospital combines compassionate patient care with state-of-the-art medical technology and research. The hospital offers a wide range of specialized services focusing primarily on women’s health, including maternity, gynecology, neonatology, and breast care. UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital prides itself on fostering a supportive and inclusive working environment where employees can thrive professionally and contribute to the hospital's mission of improving health outcomes for women through quality care and innovative treatments.

The role of the Parking Attendant at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is a vital position within the Parking department, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient management of hospital parking areas. This full-time role operates on a daylight shift from 5am to 1pm, with the significant benefit of no holidays or weekend work, making it an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking a stable work schedule. The hours may vary slightly depending on business needs.

Parking Attendants play a critical role in maintaining the smooth operation of the hospital’s parking facilities. They control traffic flow in and around the parking lots, assist visitors and patients by parking vehicles safely, and collect parking fees accurately. Safety is a top priority in this role, as attendants must remain vigilant for any potential hazards within the parking areas and report these promptly to supervisors. This ensures a secure environment not only for vehicles but also for the many patients, visitors, and staff who rely on these parking services daily.

In addition to parking duties, attendants provide excellent customer service by greeting visitors warmly, opening vehicle doors, and offering clear directions or information about parking facilities. They operate specialized equipment such as ticket machines, manage the use of reserved parking spaces, and maintain detailed documentation related to ticketing and vehicle handling. This role demands a combination of safety awareness, customer service skills, and operational efficiency.

UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital offers a supportive work setting for Parking Attendants, providing training and guidance to help employees succeed in their responsibilities. By joining the hospital’s Parking department, candidates contribute directly to the comfort and convenience of hospital visitors, ensuring they have a positive experience even before entering the hospital. The role is ideal for individuals who enjoy a structured schedule, interacting with people, and working in an environment focused on safety and service. This position also provides an opportunity for growth within UPMC, an organization recognized nationally for its commitment to excellence in healthcare and employee development.
