As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at BioLife, you will play a crucial role in plasma center operations by supporting the Plasma Center Manager. Your responsibilities will include determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and communicating any unsuitable test results to donors. Working closely under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician, this role requires knowledge of plasma collection industry regulations, environmental health and safety standards, and medical guidelines set by BioLife Medical Affairs. Your work ensures donor safety and supports high operational standards within the plasma donation facility.

The role involves diverse and impactful duties such as managing informed consent, conducting medical history interviews, physical examinations, and blood testing including reviewing complex laboratory findings like Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). You will be tasked with evaluating and responding to medical emergencies according to standard operating procedures and coordinating with emergency care facilities when necessary. Collaborating with Center Physicians and Medical Affairs experts, you will handle medical and technical issues to ensure donor safety and regulatory compliance.

Additionally, you will support employee vaccination programs like Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccines, manage employee incidents in accordance with Environmental Health and Safety policies, and potentially act as a Pandemic Coordinator if authorized. The position demands critical clinical skills, regulatory compliance, and a compassionate approach to donor care.
