Job Requirements

  • State of Florida paramedic license
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS and PALS preferred
  • CPI certification within 90 days of employment
  • Ability to effectively communicate in writing and orally with all levels of the organization
  • Must clear background and drug test required

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum one year experience as a paramedic in hospital or pre-hospital setting or related experience
  • Knowledge base requisite to the assessment and care for emergency patients
  • Possesses effective crisis intervention skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in English
  • Visual and hearing senses adequate for operative procedures and surgeon directives
  • Ability to perform effectively in fast paced and stressful environments

Job Duties

  • Assist professional nursing staff and physician with the provision of emergency treatment to patients of all ages
  • Organize and systematize reception and categorization of patients
  • Prioritize care to ensure immediate attention for seriously ill or injured patients
  • Determine patient care priorities confidently in a high-paced environment
  • Direct patient flow efficiently while maintaining composure and courtesy
  • Work beyond regular tours of duty or in other patient care units as assigned
  • Maintain effective communication with patients and families during stressful situations
