The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at BioLife Plasma Services plays an essential role in plasma center operations by applying specialized clinical knowledge to support donor eligibility and safety. Reporting directly to the Plasma Center Manager, this role demands strong medical acumen, adherence to regulatory standards, and compassionate communication skills. The Medical Support Specialist determines donor eligibility through comprehensive medical screening, including informed consent management, medical history interviews, physical examinations, blood testing, and review of laboratory results such as Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). This critical responsibility ensures that only eligible donors participate in the plasma donation process, safeguarding donor health and plasma quality.

In addition to eligibility assessments, the Medical Support Specialist effectively manages donor adverse events, follows established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for medical emergencies, and administers guidance based on standing orders from the Center Physician. The role involves close collaboration with the Center Physician and Medical Affairs team for complex medical matters, including addressing unacceptable test results and donor safety concerns.

Responsibility also extends to employees within the center, supporting vaccination initiatives like Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu programs, managing employee incidents in coordination with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) standards, and potentially serving as a Pandemic Coordinator during health crises. The role requires familiarity with plasma collection industry regulations and a manufacturing environment to maintain compliance and uphold the center's operational integrity.

This is a full-time, regular employee position based in Oklahoma City, OK, offering an hourly wage range of $23.04 to $31.68.
