Job Description
Happy Camper, Homeslice, and Paradise Park are the vibrant and creatively inspired restaurants located in Chicago, known best for their art-infused environments, delicious food offerings, and lively, welcoming vibes. As a restaurant group, these brands have made a name for themselves by paying close attention to detail not only in their food but also in the design and atmosphere of their spaces, making them popular destinations for both locals and visitors seeking a unique dining experience. The company's culture is at the heart of their identity, fostering a close-knit community among employees, many of whom have grown with the company from its inception. This dedication to culture drives the group's continuous growth and evolution as they expand their footprint in the Chicago dining scene.
Currently, Paradise Park, located at 1913 W North Ave in Chicago, is seeking enthusiastic, self-motivated individuals to join their team as Cashiers. This is a variable hour position in the front of house, reporting directly to the General Manager. The hourly rate for the position ranges from $18 to $20 per hour, depending on experience, with additional earnings potential through tips ranging from $2 to $4 per hour. The role is integral to ensuring an exceptional customer experience by managing carry-out transactions efficiently and accurately, facilitating online orders through the restaurant’s POS system, and maintaining smooth communication between staff and customers.
In this role, the employee will handle all interactions with customers, including taking over the phone carry-out orders, processing payments in cash or credit, issuing receipts, and verifying the accuracy of each food order before delivery. The cashier also supports in-house dining by delivering food to tables, maintaining a clean and organized checkout area, and managing third-party delivery apps such as Doordash, UberEats, Caviar, Postmates, and Grubhub. Strong communication and time management skills are essential, along with a customer satisfaction-oriented mindset. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working collaboratively with other restaurant staff, and values providing high-quality service.
This position also requires flexibility to assist with other restaurant duties as needed, including complying with health and food safety standards, restocking items, cleaning, and filling in for other roles to support efficient restaurant operations. Physical stamina is important, as the job involves standing and walking for up to 8 hours, performing repetitive movements like bending, stooping, reaching, and carrying. Candidates must be able to tolerate common food allergens and work in a dynamic, often noisy environment.
Happy Camper prioritizes diversity and inclusion in their hiring practices, welcoming applicants of all backgrounds and committed to creating an inclusive culture. Eligible candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality and customer service to join a growing restaurant group with a strong community focus, competitive pay, and meaningful benefits. Those seeking a fulfilling and engaging career in food service will find a supportive environment here where they can grow professionally and personally while contributing to a vibrant Chicago dining experience.
