Paradise Park located in the iconic Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago is currently offering a position for a Cashier and Food Runner. This role is essential for ensuring efficient carry out transactions and seamless delivery of food to customers dining in the restaurant. The person in this position will manage online and phone orders through the POS system, oversee pickups, confirm orders with attention to detail, and contribute actively to maintaining a welcoming and organized environment. This customer-facing role demands strong communication skills, impeccable time management, and a friendly demeanor to enhance overall customer satisfaction. Individuals who thrive in fast-paced, lively settings and demonstrate self-motivation and initiative are ideal for this role. This is a variable hour, non-exempt position reporting to the General Manager, offering an hourly wage of $19-20 based on experience with additional opportunities to earn $2-4 per hour in tips. Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Ability to provide top notch customer service in a fast-paced environment
A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with all restaurant staff
Does high-quality work while unsupervised
Willing to follow instructions and ask questions for clarification if needed
Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
Able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food when necessary
Able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system
Able to work in a busy restaurant environment
Previous restaurant experience preferred
Customer service
POS systems
Food Handlers certification required

Job Duties

Manage transactions with customers
Facilitate online orders through restaurant POS system
Answer the phone and take carry out orders
Take in-house to go orders
Double check all orders
Knowledge of the food menu and table numbers
Collect payments whether in cash or credit
Issue receipts and change
Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas
Strong communication and time management skills
Customer satisfaction-oriented
Manage third party delivery apps such as Doordash, UberEats, Caviar, Postmates and Grubhub
Be available to fill in as needed to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor
Comply with health and food safety standards, restocking items, and cleaning
Operating the cash register, answering the phone, providing great customer service, and following company policies and procedures
Take on other responsibilities as assigned by management
Ability to stand and walk a minimum of 8 hours or as needed
Must be able to exert well-paced and frequent mobility for periods of up to 8 hours or as needed
Will frequently reach, feel, bend, stoop, carry, finely manipulate and key in data
Work in both warm and cool environments
High levels of noise from music, customer and employee traffic
Must be able to tolerate potential allergens including peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish
