The role of Shift Leader at Papa John's operated by Cascade Dining is pivotal in maintaining operational standards and delivering exceptional guest service that directly impacts restaurant profitability. This position is responsible for supervising shifts and overseeing multiple work areas within the restaurant to ensure that high-quality products and service are consistently provided. The Shift Leader implements company policies, systems, and standards, guaranteeing compliance with federal, state, and local laws as well as ethical business practices. This leadership role includes managing resources efficiently, supporting team members, and embodying the company’s core values such as integrity, teamwork, and customer focus. Shift Leaders are accountable for shift coverage, inventory management, cash handling, labor costs, and overall restaurant cleanliness and safety. Through hands-on leadership, they help ensure that every guest has a positive experience and that the restaurant meets its profit goals. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous restaurant shift lead experience preferred
  • Serv-Safe or local/state food service certification preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer knowledge for using company systems

Job Duties

  • Adheres to guidelines, techniques and expectations for each station including dough management, accuracy and proper portioning
  • Performs assigned work station duties such as making quality products, follows all product preparation procedures and maintains established product holding times
  • Consistently contributes to achieving the company’s product goals
  • Commits to meeting the needs and expectations of the restaurant’s guests, minimizes guest complaints and responds appropriately to guest needs
  • Follows all policies and procedures as outlined in the team member handbook including image, attendance, safety, and security
  • Exemplifies and exhibits the core values, maintains a positive attitude, works well with others and is adaptable to change
  • Ensures adequate shift coverage, provides immediate feedback and corrects problems when identified
  • Maintains product quality, guest service and performance responsibilities such as food and labor costs, restaurant cleanliness within acceptable standards
  • Contributes to profit goals by ensuring compliance with company guidelines, accurately utilizing the FOCUS System
  • Executes cash management duties
  • Assists in managing inventory levels to minimize loss using company’s systems and guidelines
