The Pantry 1 role at 'Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach, a vibrant and luxurious resort located steps away from Waikiki Beach on Oahu, offers an exciting opportunity to join a premiere resort that combines indoor and outdoor luxury with unique experiences. The resort is known for its award-winning design by Rockwell Group, featuring a 280,000 gallon Oceanarium, saltwater infinity pool, private cabanas, and a rich cultural heritage honoring Queen Lili'uokalani, the last reigning monarch of the Hawaiian Kingdom. As the Pantry 1, you will be responsible for preparing cold food items following standardized recipes for various dining outlets within the resort, including restaurants, room service, the employee cafeteria, and banquets. This role demands a commitment to maintaining high standards in food quality, presentation, cleanliness, sanitation, and safety while working efficiently to minimize waste and enhance cost-production ratios.

You will maintain the organization and cleanliness of kitchen and storage areas, support banquet and cafeteria food service, and contribute to a safe work environment by adhering to health regulations and safety standards. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Culinary experience in a hotel or related field preferred
- Ability to stand for entire shift
- Capacity to exert medium physical effort including lifting up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work flexible and long hours
- Knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety standards
Job Duties
- Prepare all cold food items based on standardized recipes for restaurants, room service, employee cafeteria, and banquets
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen and storage areas
- Complete necessary food and station preparation prior to opening to ensure prompt service
- Prepare and display buffet food items according to hotel standards
- Utilize cooking techniques including charbroiling, poaching, deep-frying, sauté, braising, roasting, and par-cooking
- Recognize quality standards for fresh vegetables, fish, dairy, and meat products
- Follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices
- Support banquet food station as scheduled
- Operate and maintain cleanliness of all kitchen equipment
- Adhere to health department and company regulations related to food safety
- Follow a clean-as-you-go policy
- Assist in food storage and rotation
- Be able to support other kitchen positions as needed
- Practice safe work habits to prevent injury
- Use production charts as per hotel standards
