We are currently seeking a dedicated Pantry Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. This role is pivotal in maintaining the quality and presentation of our cold line in food service. The Pantry Cook is responsible for preparing and organizing food items such as soups, salads, and buffet stock while ensuring all products remain fresh and properly stored. The position requires coordination with the Executive Sous Chef to manage inventory and maintain par levels for all ingredients and supplies. A Pantry Cook at Sundial Beach Resort & Spa must uphold the highest cleanliness standards, contributing to a clean and efficient kitchen environment. This full-time position requires availability during weekends, holidays, and for overtime as needed. The ideal candidate will bring a positive attitude, knowledge of cooking techniques, and experience working in a high-volume kitchen setting. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of culinary experience in a high-volume restaurant setting
- Ability to work weekends and holidays
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards
- Physical stamina to perform kitchen duties
- Strong communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Friendly guest service personality and positive attitude exhibited at all times
- Knowledge of normal cooking techniques
- 1 year of culinary experience in a high-volume restaurant setting
- Previous exposure to hot and cold food preparation
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Works the cold line and ensures all product is fresh and organized for service
- Ensures completion of all prep and menu items in accordance with recipes and special requests
- Assists the kitchen with preparing food for all facets of the kitchen when asked
- Preps for soups, salads, cold, hot, buffet stock and back up
- Assists with the cleanliness of the kitchen, reach in, walk in coolers, etc.
- Set-up and see that pantry station is ready to serve prior to lunch and dinner service
- Overseeing see that all food prepared is of consistently high quality and that portions are consistently controlled
