Job Description
Flynn Group is a leading franchise operator that entered the Panera Bread system in 2015 with the acquisition of 47 cafes. Since then, Flynn Group has experienced significant growth, more than tripling in size to become the second largest Panera franchisee globally. Flynn Panera operates within a decentralized business model, where geographic areas are managed by Market Leaders overseeing Area Directors, General Managers, Assistant Managers, and Team Managers to ensure operational excellence. Flynn Group itself, founded in 1999 by Greg Flynn, has grown to be the world's largest franchise operator, managing a diverse portfolio of well-known restaurant brands including Applebee's, Arby's, Panera Bread, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and Planet Fitness. With a core focus on their values—Care Genuinely for People, Play like a Champion, and Win as One—the Flynn Group continually strives to be the premier operator within each brand they represent.
The role offered is a full-time Manager position within Flynn Panera, responsible for overseeing the operations and leadership of one of their upscale, friendly Panera Bread cafes. These cafes are known for serving freshly baked artisan breads and pastries, made-to-order soups, salads, sandwiches, and specialty espresso beverages in a clean, grease and alcohol-free environment without fryers or late-night shifts. A Panera Bread Manager supervises up to 75 staff members to provide an exceptional customer experience, while upholding the brand’s high standards in cleanliness, food quality, safety, and overall facility management.
As a Manager, you will lead and inspire your team, focusing on coaching, counseling, and creating a profitable and positive environment. The Manager role involves strategic planning, shift organization, and daily restaurant management responsibilities. You will act as the primary link between associates and higher management, ensuring smooth communication and team development. Your duties also include managing budgets, labor, ordering supplies, marketing initiatives, bakery operations, and catering services. The Manager is tasked with conducting table visits to ensure customer satisfaction and fostering a workplace culture where employees feel valued and motivated. Attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and a passion for the hospitality industry are essential.
Candidates with at least 2-3 years of hospitality management experience, preferably with a degree or equivalent in hospitality or restaurant management, are encouraged to apply. Food management certifications are an asset. This role demands a "Run it Like you Own It Mentality," where you will be accountable for the business's performance and team success.
Flynn Panera offers competitive salaries, with pay ranging from $50,000 to $57,000 annually, and provides employees with benefits such as profit sharing, meal discounts, medical, dental, and vision insurance available after the first month, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid vacation, and opportunities for personal and professional development. The position requires physical endurance for extended periods of standing and the ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds, as well as basic communication skills and hand dexterity.
Flynn Group is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity, inclusion, and accommodating employees with disabilities. The company values employees who bring a stable employment history, a dedication to quality service, and the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for guests and team members alike. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a rapidly growing and respected restaurant franchise with strong leadership and a mission focused on community, quality, and excellence in food service and team management.
