Job Description
Flynn Group is a major operator within the restaurant franchise industry, having entered the Panera Bread system in 2015 with the acquisition of 47 cafes. Since then, the company has rapidly expanded to become the second largest Panera franchisee in the world, continuously growing by building new stores and acquiring other franchise operators. Flynn Panera operates under a decentralized business model where each geographic area is led by a Market Leader, supported by Area Directors who oversee multiple cafes within their region, and General Managers who manage individual cafes. This structure ensures effective leadership and management across all cafe operations.
Flynn Panera prides itself on a strong leadership team with decades of combined experience, emphasizing a culture built on core values such as genuine care for people, champion-level performance, and unified success. As part of the larger Flynn Group, which was founded in 1999 and is the world’s largest franchise operator, Flynn Panera benefits from extensive industry expertise across well-known brands including Applebee's, Arby’s, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy’s, and Planet Fitness. Their mission is to be the premier operator within each brand by consistently delivering excellent service and operational excellence.
The position of Manager at Flynn Panera represents a significant leadership opportunity within their growing Panera Bread cafes. These cafes are known for their upscale, welcoming environments that emphasize fresh, artisan-quality foods without the presence of fryers or late-night shifts. The focus on baked breads, pastries, soups, salads, sandwiches, and specialty espresso beverages creates a distinctive, grease-free, and alcohol-free workplace conducive to employee wellbeing.
Managers supervise teams of up to 75 staff members and are responsible for providing outstanding leadership, coaching, and operational management to ensure an exceptional guest experience. The role demands a passion for the food and beverage industry, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to create a positive, profitable work environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food quality, safety, and overall cafe management. This position is ideal for experienced restaurant professionals with a steady employment history, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to embodying the company’s core values.
Key aspects of the Manager role include strategic business planning, sales analysis, budgeting, labor management, marketing, facility maintenance, bakery operations, and catering coordination. Managers lead the training and development of their teams, serve as primary communication conduits between staff and upper management, and inspire associates to engage fully with their work while fostering a fun, supportive atmosphere. The company also values managers who are proactive in problem-solving and committed to ethical business practices.
Flynn Panera offers a comprehensive compensation package including competitive hourly pay (ranging from $23.50 to $26.00 per hour plus overtime), profit sharing, and benefits such as health, dental, and vision insurance starting shortly after hire, 401(k) with company match, paid vacation, and development opportunities. The role requires physical stamina, including the ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. This full-time position typically involves a 45-hour work week with some overtime at 1.5 times base pay.
