Job Description
Flynn Group, a prominent name in the restaurant industry, entered the Panera system in 2015 by acquiring 47 cafes. Since then, it has rapidly expanded and is now the second largest Panera franchisee globally, continuously growing by building new stores and acquiring additional franchise operators. Flynn Panera operates as a franchisee of Panera Bread, following a decentralized business model where each geographic location is managed by a Market Leader who oversees Area Directors. These Area Directors, in turn, manage General Managers responsible for the overall operations of their cafes, supported by Assistant Managers and Team Managers to ensure smooth running of daily activities.
Flynn Group itself was founded in 1999 by Greg Flynn and has grown into the largest franchise operator worldwide, with a diversified portfolio that includes iconic brands such as Applebee's, Arby's, Panera Bread, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy’s, and Planet Fitness. The company prioritizes being a premier operator within each brand, guided by core values of genuinely caring for people, playing like champions, and winning together as a team. The leadership at Flynn Panera boasts over 190 years of combined restaurant industry experience, ensuring that they maintain exceptional standards and foster a supportive and high-performing work culture.
This role is for a Manager position at one of Flynn Panera's Panera Bread cafes, known for their upscale, friendly atmosphere offering artisan breads, pastries, made-to-order soups, salads, sandwiches, and specialty espresso beverages. Notably, the cafes operate in a grease and alcohol-free environment with no fryers and no late-night shifts, making it a unique and healthier environment for employees. The Manager will be responsible for leading a team of up to 75 staff members to deliver an excellent customer experience while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, food quality, and safety.
The Manager's responsibilities include inspiring and coaching staff, creating a profitable work environment, and ensuring daily operational goals are met. This role demands someone passionate about the food and beverage industry, with strong leadership, interpersonal skills, and a commitment to excellence. Flynn Panera emphasizes steady, stable employment history, attention to detail, and professionalism in its Managers. The position offers full-time employment with an hourly wage ranging from $23.50 to $26.00, along with benefits such as profit sharing, medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid vacation, and development opportunities. The Manager is expected to work a 45-hour week, including overtime paid at 1.5 times the base rate for five of those hours, with physical demands that include standing and mobility for up to 10 hours and lifting up to 50 pounds safely.
Overall, the Manager at Flynn Panera's Panera Bread cafe will play a critical role in maintaining the brand’s reputation for quality, care, and community by leading their team with integrity and enthusiasm in a thriving and supportive work environment.
