Job Description
Southeastern Freight Lines is a leading regional less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier providing reliable and efficient transportation services across a broad network. Founded on a commitment to customer satisfaction, Southeastern Freight Lines prides itself on offering unparalleled service quality, operational excellence, and innovative logistics solutions. The company is recognized for its strong safety culture, professional work environment, and dedication to employee development, making it a preferred employer in the freight and transportation industry. They support a wide range of industries with their freight transportation needs, ensuring goods are delivered safely and on time to meet the demands of commerce and customers alike. As a full-time establishment with a focus on employee welfare, Southeastern Freight Lines offers competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits to support the well-being and growth of their team members.
As a P&D Driver (Pickup and Delivery Driver) at Southeastern Freight Lines, your role is critical to the company’s reputation as the face of the organization on the front lines of service. Your primary responsibility involves safely picking up, transporting, and delivering freight within local regions. This position requires professional interaction with customers regularly, emphasizing courteous and reliable service to foster strong client relationships. You will operate tractor-trailer vehicles under varying road and traffic conditions, managing complex operational tasks such as coupling and uncoupling trailers, connecting air and electrical lines, and adjusting equipment effectively to ensure safe and secure transport.
In addition to driving, you are required to perform thorough vehicle inspections to guarantee the operational safety of the truck and trailer, actively manage the loading and unloading processes to maintain freight integrity, and meticulously handle all transport documentation to ensure legal and compliance accuracy, especially when hazardous materials are part of the cargo. Your role demands proficient maneuvering skills to navigate challenging environments, including heavy urban traffic and confined drop-off locations. Reporting any incidents or delays promptly is essential, along with strict adherence to all applicable safety standards, Department of Transportation regulations, and company policies. Maintaining professionalism and prioritizing customer service at all times is a fundamental expectation in this role.
Successful candidates will benefit from a competitive annual salary range of $91,728 to $100,191, depending on experience, location, and work hours. This is a full-time position with a first-shift schedule, offering career stability and ongoing growth opportunities within a respected transportation company. Southeastern Freight Lines is committed to supporting its drivers through comprehensive benefits and continuous training to help them excel in their duties and maintain the highest standards of safety and service delivery.
