Job Description
FedUp Foods is a pioneering leader in the functional beverage industry, recognized as one of the nation’s early producers of kombucha under the Buchi brand and standing as one of the largest manufacturers of functional beverages in America. The company offers a diverse portfolio of organic private label functional beverages tailored for top global retailers, positioning itself at the forefront of innovative health-conscious drink options. Since its inception, FedUp Foods has maintained a commitment to quality, sustainability, and community impact, aligning with its status as a benefit corporation which emphasizes the importance of people as a core element of its business strategy.
FedUp Foods fosters an environment driven by collaborative efforts, creativity, and continuous learning, aimed at empowering employees both personally and professionally. The company’s core values—Agility, Collaboration, Communication, Lifelong Learning, Community, and Gratitude—are not just slogans but the principles that guide everyday operations and teamwork. Employees at FedUp Foods are encouraged to thrive in an adaptable community that promotes growth opportunities through training and support.
The Packaging Technician role at FedUp Foods is vital to ensuring the successful production and delivery of high-quality beverages. Working primarily on the first shift from Monday to Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., these technicians operate various packaging machines and equipment with precision and care, ensuring that products meet quality and safety standards before reaching customers. The position demands integrity, focus, and collaboration with teammates who share dedication to upholding the company’s standards and values.
Packaging Technicians are responsible for operating a range of equipment including depalletizers, fillers, case packers, labelers, case erectors, and case sealers. Beyond machine operation, they play an active role in maintaining a clean and safe working environment by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety protocols. These technicians participate in safety training sessions, conduct safety inspections, and help create a culture of safety awareness to prevent incidents and hazards.
Moreover, the role includes responsibilities connected to food safety and quality. Packaging Technicians follow GMP policies, understand the company’s Safe Quality Food (SQF) program relating to pest control, allergen management, visitor protocols, and sanitation, and report any food safety or quality issues to the Quality Assurance Manager for corrective actions. This ensures that the company continuously improves its food safety and quality standards, securing product integrity.
This position requires hands-on involvement in all stages of packaging line operations, including setup, breakdown, and cleaning of equipment, as well as product verification and deep cleaning for special projects. The ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues on the fly is important, alongside maintaining detailed documentation for all performed processes. Forklift and pallet jack experience is preferred, as the role involves moving products to designated areas.
Employment at FedUp Foods offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance with a significant company premium contribution, group term life insurance, retirement plans with employer match, paid holidays, paid time off, and more. The company is devoted to diversity and inclusion, providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants regardless of various protected characteristics. FedUp Foods also emphasizes compliance with legal standards through thorough background checks for all prospective employees.
This position demands physical stamina, including standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and operating in a noisy, sometimes crowded manufacturing environment. Applicants should be ready to support the business through occasional overtime, extended shifts, weekends, and shift schedule adjustments. Overall, this role is suited for individuals seeking a dynamic and responsible position within a forward-thinking company committed to innovation, quality, and employee wellbeing.
