The Packaging Specialist role based in New Orleans, LA is a critical position within the company’s production department. This role focuses on ensuring the quality and efficient packaging of finished products according to established procedures, specifications, and safety standards. The Packaging Specialist is responsible for housekeeping of the production area, case making, inspecting products for defects, and packing completed products with attention to detail. They collaboratively maintain safety and quality standards while participating in continuous quality improvement initiatives. The role requires handling packing equipment safely, communicating with supervisors and team members about product or machinery issues, assisting with training new staff, and maintaining an organized and safe work environment. This job requires diligence, punctuality, and a strong commitment to quality and teamwork. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred
- Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance
- Basic computer and typing skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
- Collaborative attitude and willingness to assist others
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks
- Ability to lift moderate weights as required
- Willingness to comply with safety protocols and company policies
Job Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing experience a plus

- Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given and standard practices

Job Duties
- Understand, follow and enforce all established safety, health, quality GMP and company policies, procedures and recognized practices
- Participate in continuous quality improvement projects and other related activities as assigned
- Visually inspect finished product for defects before packing to ensure quality
- Follow written packing instructions
- Notify supervisor or lead of potential problems with finished product and/or machinery
- Grind bottles as necessary, checking for contamination before grinding
- Open and inspect bundles of corrugated material and check for proper printing and defects
- Stack case/dividers on carts and feed individual cases and dividers into case forming machine
- Use case making equipment in a safe manner
- Notify the appropriate coworker or assignee when supplies at the machine need to be replenished
- Communicate with incoming shift or line replacement on any problems with quality, machine, and packing configurations
- Assist with rework and heldware to ensure effective completion
- Assist in the training of regular and temporary workforce in stacking, packing quality, and case machines
- Keep work area and other facilities clean, orderly and safe
- Complete written documentation as required
- Limited travel may be required
