The Maintenance Supervisor role at ASR Group is a critical leadership position responsible for directing and coordinating maintenance operations with a specific focus on key mechanical maintenance functions including preventative and corrective actions on scrolls, pumps, and centrifugal machines. Reporting to senior management, the Maintenance Supervisor plays a fundamental role in ensuring that all maintenance activities meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, safety, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery. This role demands a proactive approach to maintenance management and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the plant.

One of the core responsibilities of the Maintenance Supervisor is fostering a safety-first culture by leading through example, establishing clear expectations and standards, and supporting positive safety behaviors daily. Compliance with all company policies and procedures is paramount while identifying improvement opportunities and developing effective action plans to address and resolve issues.

The role encompasses overseeing a dynamic maintenance team, reviewing and approving maintenance work orders, inspecting ongoing and completed work for adherence to quality and timeliness, and efficiently coordinating maintenance schedules to maximize equipment uptime. Additionally, the Maintenance Supervisor manages the preventative maintenance program adhering to manufacturer and engineering guidelines, manages resources and scheduling, and maintains meticulous department records for equipment and company assets.

Interfacing with external vendors for purchasing equipment and parts, collecting technical data for equipment modification or replacement are essential to this role, along with budgeting and controlling costs related to maintenance supplies and projects. The Maintenance Supervisor also supervises special projects, ensures high workmanship standards, contributes to documentation, and enforces housekeeping standards within the facility.

This position requires working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and involves rotating weekend shifts, daily overtime, and potential 2nd and 3rd shift assignments. ASR Group offers a competitive salary ranging from $61,000 to $105,000 plus bonuses, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum five years of related maintenance experience
  • At least three years of maintenance supervisory experience preferred
  • Prior experience in machine shop or equipment garage environment preferred
  • Ability to work rotating weekend shifts and overtime
  • Effective communication skills
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar maintenance software preferred
  • Commitment to safety and compliance
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence
  • Ability to use general office equipment
  • Willingness to learn and keep up with new technology

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of mechanical systems related to rotating and fixed equipment
  • Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods
  • Ability to interpret vibration and oil analysis reports
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Office
  • Experience with CMMS platforms such as SAP, Oracle or JD Edwards
  • Good communication and report writing skills
  • Ability to work well with internal and external customers
  • Scheduling and planning experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Directs maintenance of a safe and healthy work environment by eliminating hazards, training employees and promoting safety awareness
  • Oversees incident reporting and root cause analysis
  • Takes corrective actions to reduce safety risks, maintenance problems and waste to maximize equipment availability
  • Reviews, approves and schedules maintenance work orders
  • Provides resources and inspects work progress for accuracy and timeliness
  • Coordinates daily maintenance work to ensure maximum equipment uptime utilizing available resources
  • Manages preventative maintenance program in accordance with guidelines
  • Interfaces with vendors for equipment and parts procurement
  • Supervises special maintenance and engineering projects ensuring high quality workmanship
  • Reviews costs and implements cost control measures
  • Conducts daily safety contacts and monthly safety meetings
  • Assists in weekend shutdown maintenance and outage planning
  • Ensures maintenance of department records and housekeeping standards
  • Reviews time cards for accuracy
