Job Description

Novolex is a leading manufacturer specializing in food, beverage, and specialty packaging that serves a multitude of industries including foodservice, restaurant delivery and carryout, food processing, grocery and retail, and various industrial sectors. The company is recognized for its extensive expertise in manufacturing and sourcing a diverse range of substrates such as resin, paper, molded fiber, aluminum, and more. Novolex offers customers a broad variety of stock and customized packaging solutions featuring over 120 product categories, 250 brands, and more than 39,000 SKUs, positioning itself as a comprehensive provider in the packaging industry.

Novolex stands out not just for its product range but also for its commitment to sustainability, articulated through three core pillars: their products, operations, and people. This sustainability vision is integral to the company’s growth strategy and ongoing business success. By adopting wide-ranging initiatives, Novolex aims to reduce environmental impact and foster responsible manufacturing practices while supporting its workforce and communities.

Currently, Novolex is seeking motivated individuals to join its team as Packers at the Kalamazoo plant, which was formerly operated under the name Pactiv Evergreen. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to begin or further their careers in manufacturing. Packers at Novolex will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and packaging integrity of the company’s products. This position involves inspecting and packaging products, rotating through various production lines under the guidance of a Team Leader, and maintaining high standards as set by the Novolex Quality Department.

The role requires independent work, attention to detail, and the ability to ensure that all packed products are free of defects and meet strict quality standards. Employees will work on shifts available both during the day and at night, with competitive starting pay of $19.32 per hour, and work schedules that provide structured days on and off for work-life balance. Packers are expected to contribute to a safe, clean, and friendly working environment, visually inspect products, handle product packaging carefully to prevent mix-ups, meet daily production goals, and properly label each case.

This position demands physical endurance, as employees must be able to stand and walk for extended shifts, climb, lift and carry products weighing up to 50 pounds, and stay alert to safety warnings and alarms. Communication skills and teamwork are essential, along with the ability to work independently and maintain quality and cleanliness standards following ISO regulations.

Novolex is dedicated to the well-being and development of its employees. The company offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as various resources supporting mental, physical, and financial health. Employees benefit from ongoing training and development programs tailored to career progression. The company fosters a culture of inclusion and equal opportunity, ensuring a supportive environment for all team members. Furthermore, Novolex actively engages in community support through sustainability and hunger relief initiatives, encouraging their employees to participate in community activities.

This role is ideally suited for candidates eager to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment where quality, safety, and teamwork are top priorities. Novolex's commitment to sustainability, employee development, and community engagement makes it a desirable employer in the manufacturing sector.
