The role of the Vibration Analyst at OxyChem’s Pasadena Plant in Pasadena, Texas, offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated professional to join a purpose-driven team. The Vibration Analyst plays a vital role in maintaining the reliability and operational efficiency of critical rotating equipment by conducting detailed vibration data collection and analysis. This position requires someone with a strong background in vibration monitoring who can provide timely and accurate assessments, troubleshooting support, and recommendations to prevent equipment failure and support maintenance strategies.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED
ISO Category II Certification from an accredited certification provider
minimum 2 years of vibration monitoring experience
able to read process flow diagrams, P&IDs, mechanical drawings
able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed
valid driver’s license
ability to read, speak and write English
basic understanding of Microsoft applications
working knowledge of SAP
excellent communication skills
able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs
able to walk, bend, stoop
able to wear personal protective equipment including respirator
able to respond to visual and audible alarms

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or GED
ISO Category II Certification from a accredited certification provider such as Vibration Institute, Mobius, Technical Associates
at least 2 years of vibration monitoring experience including solving machine problems using vibration analysis
ability to read process flow diagrams, P&IDs, mechanical drawings and follow mechanical specifications
valid driver’s license
ability to read, speak, and write English
basic understanding of Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
good working knowledge of SAP
excellent written and verbal communication skills
excellent interpersonal skills including ability to work as part of a team

Job Duties

Vibration data collection and analysis
timely reporting of vibration analysis findings and recommendations
provide troubleshooting support and solve equipment problems by evaluating vibration patterns and incorporating other process information such as pressures, temperatures, flows, sound
maintain vibration database
support the development of equipment maintenance strategies related to vibration analysis monitoring
repair shop acceptance testing as needed
provide call out coverage as needed
assist with failure analysis of rotating equipment to determine root causes of failure and help determine solutions to prevent recurrence
provide oversight and mentoring to less experienced millwrights and vibration technicians
