Job Description
Schneider is a leading transportation and logistics company that offers a diverse range of freight services across North America. With decades of experience in the industry, Schneider has built a reputation for reliability, efficiency, and innovation. The company specializes in freight management solutions, providing owner-operators and fleet drivers with access to a broad network of contract and spot market loads. Schneider's FreightPower program is designed to empower independent owner-operators by giving them significantly increased access to a wide variety of freight options, including 1,000 to 2,000 additional loads daily. This program offers flexibility, competitive revenue opportunities, and advanced tools to simplify planning, booking, and operational management.
The role of Owner-Operator with Schneider is a full-time opportunity that presents a unique chance for experienced drivers to manage their own business using Schneider's extensive resources. Owner-Operators benefit from multiple load selection options such as All-In Revenue, which provides an all-in rate without needing to calculate fuel or accessorial costs, and Percent of Revenue, where drivers receive 65 percent of linehaul revenue plus 100 percent of fuel surcharge and accessorial fees upon load completion. This flexibility enables owner-operators to choose loads, determine their own schedules, maximize home time, and effectively control their lanes and revenue.
In addition to load selection benefits, Schneider provides access to dry van trailers with 90 percent drop-and-hook freight at no charge when operating under Schneider’s authority. This significantly enhances productivity and efficiency for drivers who prefer this convenient operational model. The company offers competitive financial incentives, including a $456 payment on the second settlement and $252 weekly for 22 weeks, totaling $6,000 in sign-on bonuses (subject to terms and conditions). The Owner-Operator position also grants use of advanced tools such as Samsung tablets for use inside and outside the cab, coupled with free trailer usage to reduce operational costs.
Schneider supports owner-operators by providing access to company facilities that feature free parking, laundry, meal options, and exercise equipment, creating a supportive infrastructure for drivers on the road. The company also assists with truck buying and leasing options, offering new and gently used trucks specifically spec'd for owner-operators, as well as used fleet equipment. Whether you currently own a truck or wish to upgrade, Schneider can connect you with trusted equipment sales and leasing providers.
This role requires candidates to have a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License and a minimum of 6 months driving experience in Class A operations. Trucks must be 2011 or newer, pass DOT inspections, comply with EPA10 emissions standards, and be equipped with functioning Collision Mitigation Systems. Additional qualifications apply and must be met to ensure safety and compliance.
The Owner-Operator role at Schneider is ideal for those seeking autonomy in their transport business backed by a dependable company that offers comprehensive support, access to a large freight network, financial incentives, and essential tools to thrive in the competitive trucking industry. Full-time employment with Schneider means being part of a community that values driver expertise and fosters growth and success in independent freight operations.
