Job Description
Schneider FreightPower is a leading transportation and logistics company that offers exceptional opportunities for owner-operators looking to maximize their earnings and flexibility. Schneider is known for its innovative freight solutions, diverse range of contract and spot market loads, and its commitment to supporting owner-operators with powerful tools and resources. As a well-established leader in the trucking industry, Schneider provides an all-encompassing platform that makes it easy for owner-operators to plan, book, and run their freight operations with confidence and efficiency.
The Owner-Operator role at Schneider is designed for independent truck drivers who want to harness the benefits of working with a top-tier carrier while maintaining autonomy over their schedule and operations. This role offers access to 1,000 to 2,000 additional contract and spot market loads daily, significantly increasing revenue potential. Owner-operators can choose from traditional loads and enjoy options like All-In Revenue, which simplifies payment by including fuel and accessorials, or Percent of Revenue, which gives 65% of linehaul revenue plus full fuel surcharge and accessorials.
This position provides self-dispatch privileges, allowing owner-operators to select loads, home time, lanes, and revenue that suit their lifestyle and business goals. Hauling dry van trailers primarily through 90% drop-and-hook loads enables drivers to operate more efficiently with less downtime. Additionally, Schneider offers a significant sign-on bonus totaling $6,000, spread over several payments, motivating new contractors to join and succeed.
Beyond earnings, Schneider equips owner-operators with essential tools such as a Samsung tablet for seamless communication and load management from inside and outside the cab, and free use of trailers to reduce upfront costs. Access to company facilities adds further convenience, offering free parking, laundry services, meal options, and exercise equipment, which ensures drivers have a comfortable base for their operations.
Schneider also provides competitive equipment solutions, including new and gently used trucks spec'd especially for owner-operators and a variety of leasing and purchasing options to help drivers upgrade or secure their trucks. The company’s Purchase Power Program offers discounts on fuel, tires, and maintenance, helping owner-operators manage operational expenses effectively.
This full-time position requires a Class A Commercial Driver's License and at least six months of Class A driving experience. Trucks must be 2011 or newer, pass DOT inspection, meet EPA10 emissions standards, and have functioning safety systems like Collision Mitigation. Schneider supports its owner-operators with ongoing resources and an environment that fosters success in the competitive trucking industry.
