Job Description
Schneider is a leading transportation and logistics company known for its commitment to driver satisfaction and operational excellence. Established over 80 years ago, Schneider provides a comprehensive range of trucking services across North America, specializing in freight management, dedicated services, and intermodal transport. The company operates with a strong focus on safety, technology, and sustainability, consistently delivering quality service to its clients and creating rewarding career opportunities for drivers. Schneider’s reputation as an industry leader is backed by its extensive fleet, advanced technology solutions, and dedication to environmental responsibility.
This particular role is for an Owner-Operator position, ideal for experienced truck drivers who hold a Class A Commercial Driver's License and prefer the autonomy to select loads and manage their own schedule. The position offers an attractive average revenue range of $190,000 to $285,000 per year, reflecting the potential earning power available to motivated and efficient owner-operators. This is a full-time employment opportunity that combines independence with the support and resources of a major national carrier.
Owner-Operators at Schneider benefit from an all-in revenue model, meaning they select loads that come with a comprehensive all-in rate without needing to separately calculate fuel surcharges or accessorial fees. This simplifies financial planning and helps maximize income. The role involves self-dispatching, allowing drivers to pick their preferred loads, home time, freight lanes, and overall revenue routes, providing flexibility and control over their business.
Additionally, Schneider offers the unique advantage of hauling tanker trailers at no charge while operating under the company’s authority. This feature expands earning opportunities and reduces operating costs for the driver. The job requires hands-on loading and unloading of freight, placing a premium on efficiency and care during delivery.
Schneider supports its owner-operators with generous incentives, including an upfront payment system where drivers can receive $570 on their second settlement and $315 weekly for the subsequent 22 weeks, totaling $7,500 in incentives. This financial support eases the transition into the role and rewards performance over time.
The company also ensures that drivers have access to a wide selection of freight via Schneider’s private load board, one of the largest and most diverse in the industry. This comprehensive load availability means owner-operators can easily find freight opportunities that best fit their operating preferences and maximize their profitability.
Technology is a major part of doing business with Schneider. Drivers use a user-friendly mobile app that can be accessed from smartphones, tablets, or laptops to select freight quickly and efficiently. This technology-driven approach helps owner-operators increase productivity and better manage their schedules from virtually anywhere.
Beyond technology, Schneider equips its drivers with essential tools such as pumps, compressors, personal protective gear, Samsung tablets, and free trailer usage, helping to ensure operational success and safety on the road. The company also offers discounts on fuel, tires, and maintenance through its Purchase Power Program, further reducing operating expenses for owner-operators.
Schneider provides compensation for time spent in orientation, ensuring drivers are paid for their initial onboarding. The company also supports the growth and sustainability of its fleet by connecting drivers who need trucks or want to upgrade with equipment sales and leasing providers.
With unlimited referral bonuses and a solid support infrastructure, Schneider not only values its drivers but actively rewards their contributions to the company’s success. This role represents a premier opportunity for owner-operators who want to leverage their skills, operate with independence, and earn competitive rates within a respected and supportive corporate structure.
