Job Description

Schneider is a leading transportation and logistics company with a strong reputation for providing reliable and efficient freight solutions across the United States. Operating primarily in trucking and logistics, Schneider offers a comprehensive platform for owner-operators to thrive by combining competitive compensation, access to valuable resources, and a supportive business environment. Established as a trusted name in the industry, Schneider is committed to the success of its contractors by offering opportunities that balance steady revenue generation with operational flexibility.

This full-time Owner-Operator role with Schneider is designed for Class A licensed drivers who own or lease their tractors and are looking to maximize their earning potential while working under a recognized authority. The position offers an attractive revenue range from $150,000 to $210,000 on average, reflecting the profitability of the chosen routes and load options. Focusing on distance-based revenue, drivers can select from a variety of lanes and loads, often servicing dedicated port customers that provide consistent business and financial stability. One of the distinctive benefits includes hauling containers with drop-and-hook services at no charge, simplifying operations and minimizing downtime.

Newly onboarded drivers receive a sign-on bonus package totaling $6,000, which includes $456 on the second settlement payment after starting and $252 weekly for 22 weeks, offering a strong financial incentive to join the team. Schneider facilitates the operational success of owner-operators by providing essential tools such as a Samsung tablet for use both inside and outside the cab, complimentary trailer usage, and access to well-equipped company facilities. These facilities feature free parking, laundry services, meal options, and exercise equipment, making the day-to-day working experience comfortable and convenient.

Additionally, Schneider supports owner-operators through its Purchase Power Program, giving discounts on fuel, tires, maintenance, and more. The compensation model also accounts for the time spent in orientation, ensuring that drivers are fairly remunerated from the start. Unlimited referral bonuses further enhance earnings potential, creating opportunities for financial growth beyond standard operational activities. For those seeking equipment or upgrades, Schneider connects drivers with reliable sales and leasing providers, facilitating smooth entry and continued growth within the company.

This role requires proximity to Chesapeake or Norfolk, Virginia, with eligible candidates living within 30 miles of Chesapeake or 50 miles of Norfolk, highlighting the local focus and community connectivity. Overall, Schneider offers a comprehensive package designed for experienced owner-operators who want to leverage their skills and equipment to build a rewarding trucking business while benefiting from the support and resources of a major logistics provider.
