Job Description
Schneider is a leading transportation and logistics company renowned for providing innovative and efficient freight solutions across the United States. Established with a strong commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, Schneider delivers superior trucking services that meet diverse supply chain needs. Whether it is through dedicated, intermodal, or truckload services, Schneider focuses on leveraging technology and operational excellence to support both customers and drivers effectively. The company prides itself on supporting its contractors and owner-operators with comprehensive programs designed to facilitate growth and financial success. Schneider operates widely and is recognized for its dedication to safety, reliability, and driver empowerment.
The role of Owner-Operator at Schneider invites experienced truck drivers who wish to operate their own equipment while benefiting from Schneider's extensive network and support infrastructure. This opportunity is structured as a full-time commitment, offering a competitive average revenue range of $165,000 to $225,000, reflecting the earning potential based on mileage-based revenue lease programs. Owner-Operators have the flexibility to choose from an assortment of loads and lane options, promoting consistency in revenue streams. The position involves hauling containers that benefit from drop-and-hook operations without any additional charges when operating under Schneider’s authority.
This role is ideal for drivers who own or wish to lease their tractors that are 2000 models or newer with EPA10 emissions-compliant engines capable of passing DOT inspections. Operating within specific geographic areas such as Chicago, IL, or Elwood, IL, ensures proximity to key freight corridors and facilities, enhancing efficiency and turnout. Schneider facilitates connections with equipment sales and leasing providers for operators needing trucks or upgrades, supporting entrepreneurial drivers in maintaining a well-equipped fleet. The company invests in its contractors by offering compensation for time spent in orientation, promoting a smooth integration into its operational framework.
Beyond competitive pay, Schneider enhances the operational experience through a host of advantages and supportive tools. Owner-Operators receive Samsung tablets for seamless business management inside and outside of the cab, free trailer usage, and access to company facilities which include amenities like free parking, laundries, meal options, and exercise equipment. These resources ensure a comfortable and productive working environment, emphasizing driver wellness and convenience. Additional benefits include discounts on fuel, tires, and maintenance through Schneider’s Purchase Power Program, as well as unlimited referral bonuses, incentivizing growth and collaboration within the Schneider community.
This role demands commitment, reliability, and a professional attitude towards trucking operations. In return, Schneider provides a structured platform that empowers Owner-Operators to maximize their revenue while enjoying the autonomy of independent operation wrapped with the stability of a well-respected name in trucking. Prospective candidates are encouraged to bring their experience and dedication to contribute to a vibrant and prosperous transportation network that values safety, efficiency, and driver success.
