Job Description
KAG Energy, a division of the Kenan Advantage Group, stands as a prominent player in the energy transportation sector, providing specialized logistics services primarily focused on the movement of petroleum products and other energy commodities. With a legacy of reliability and operational excellence, KAG Energy is recognized for its commitment to safety, service quality, and employee support. The company’s reputation is built on decades of experience, a robust network of terminals, and a fleet equipped to handle the demanding needs of the energy industry. As part of the Kenan Advantage Group, KAG Energy benefits from extensive resources and a strong national presence, enabling it to offer competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits packages to its workforce.
Currently, KAG Energy is seeking Owner Operator Truck Drivers to join their growing team. This role is designed for highly motivated and experienced truck drivers who own their equipment and are looking for an opportunity to partner with a dependable and reputable company. Owner Operators at KAG Energy enjoy a unique combination of autonomy and support, with the advantage of operating their own tractor while benefiting from the backing of a well-established organization.
The Owner Operator position offers an attractive pay structure, including 72% of gross revenue plus 100% of the fuel surcharge, which translates to an average monthly gross income ranging from $18,000 to $21,000. In addition to competitive earnings, KAG Energy provides a variety of insurer-backed benefits such as non-trucking (Bobtail) insurance, physical damage insurance, and occupational accident insurance. Owner Operators also receive paid training on product handling, which consists of 3-5 weeks of practical experience in a company truck followed by 2-3 days of classroom instruction, with a training pay of $225 per day.
Equipment-wise, the company supplies trailers fully equipped with all necessary delivery apparatus, eliminating the need for Owner Operators to rent trailers. This ensures drivers can focus on their routes without the hassle of additional equipment costs or logistical challenges. Strict tractor specifications are upheld to maintain safety and efficiency standards, including a requirement that tractors be 10 years old or newer, have a maximum overall height of 10 feet 4 inches including the tip top of the stack, and fit specific fifth wheel placement guidelines. Tractors must also be capable of maximizing load capacity within the federal gross vehicle weight limit of 80,000 pounds and have preferred tire sizes to facilitate level loading and unloading.
This position demands that applicants hold a valid CDL-A license, with at least 12 months of recent, verifiable tractor/trailer experience. Tank and Hazmat endorsements are also mandatory due to the nature of the cargo transported. KAG Energy underscores its dedication to safety and compliance by enforcing these requirements thoroughly.
The Owner Operator role at KAG Energy is ideal for experienced professionals seeking a stable yet flexible work environment, backed by competitive pay, comprehensive insurance coverage, and ongoing training opportunities. The company's supportive terminal management teams provide a collaborative work atmosphere, reinforcing KAG Energy’s commitment to driver satisfaction and success. If you are an Owner Operator looking to maximize your earnings with a reliable partner in the energy transportation field, KAG Energy offers an excellent platform for growth and professional fulfillment.
