Job Description

Sundance Mountain Resort is a renowned and picturesque mountain destination that offers a unique blend of natural beauty, outdoor recreation, and cultural experiences. Nestled in the scenic landscapes of Utah, Sundance is recognized for its commitment to exceptional guest services, artistic heritage, and sustainable practices. As a multifaceted resort, it features accommodations, dining establishments, art galleries, and various recreational activities that draw visitors year-round. The resort is dedicated to creating memorable experiences for its guests by maintaining high standards of hospitality, environmental stewardship, and community engagement.

One of the prominent dining venues at Sundance is the Owl Bar, a rustic and inviting space known for its warm atmosphere, signature cocktails, and carefully curated menu. The Owl Bar serves as a social hub within the resort, offering guests a welcoming environment to relax, enjoy handcrafted drinks, and savor exceptional food. To support these operations, Sundance Mountain Resort is seeking a dedicated and personable Owl Bar Server to join their team. This role is a non-exempt, hourly position with a starting pay rate of $2.13 per hour plus tips. It offers variable shifts across all days of the week including weekends and holidays, reflecting the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry and the resort's commitment to delivering consistent, high-quality guest service.

The Owl Bar Server position plays an essential role in ensuring guests have an outstanding dining and bar experience. Responsibilities include preparing the server station and floor to meet Sundance’s exacting standards, maintaining cleanliness and adherence to health codes, and wearing the required uniform to project a professional image. The role demands a thorough understanding of the menu, including daily specials, signature drinks, and food offerings, as well as compliance with Utah liquor laws and responsible alcohol service policies. Servers are expected to greet guests warmly, take accurate orders using the point of sale system, handle payments efficiently, and deliver food and beverages in a timely manner.

Moreover, sellers must actively share the unique history of the Owl Bar with patrons, contribute to a pleasant environment by setting up, stocking, cleaning, and managing bar operations such as changing draft beer kegs and preparing drinks in the absence of a bartender. Regular training is provided to enhance knowledge of drinks, wines, and service standards, ensuring the team meets the resort's elevated expectations for hospitality. This role demands physical stamina, including the ability to stand and move for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and fulfill other physical requirements.

Sundance Mountain Resort values employees' personal and professional growth, offering opportunities for advancement and continuous development within a supportive and collaborative team setting. The Owl Bar Server is expected to be 21 years or older and possess or obtain the necessary food handling and alcohol service permits promptly after employment. This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about the hospitality industry and committed to delivering exceptional guest service in a vibrant mountain resort environment.
