The Porter role at C&S Wholesale Services is essential for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of distribution center facilities, particularly in their Miami, Florida location. This full-time position on the second shift offers an hourly wage of $18. Porters work closely with their team to ensure the entire warehouse, including office spaces, employee break areas, restrooms, and windows, are consistently clean and well-maintained. The role requires a strong attention to detail and physical stamina, involving tasks that include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, floor buffing and waxing, and handling spills such as damaged product, oil, or grease to maintain a safe environment.

In this position, you will also be responsible for safely operating material handling equipment like electric pallet jacks when needed to clear areas for cleaning. This may involve moving products to access areas requiring cleaning and returning them to their original spots while adhering strictly to safety procedures. The physical demands of the job are substantial, with frequent lifting of items weighing from 1 to 60 pounds, sometimes at varying heights from floor level to overhead shelves, and prolonged periods of standing, bending, pulling, and walking on different flooring surfaces. Safe handling of sharp objects like box cutters is also necessary.
