Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in customer service or veterinary reception preferred
  • Strong communication skills in person and on the telephone
  • Ability to handle emotionally sensitive situations with compassion
  • Skilled in multitasking and working in fast-paced environments
  • Familiarity with appointment scheduling and client management software is a plus
  • Able to work overnight shifts and rotating schedules

Job Duties

  • Greet clients with friendly eye contact and professional acknowledgment
  • Offer a friendly smile and approachable demeanor
  • Listen compassionately to clients
  • Speak clearly and calmly in person and on the telephone
  • Assess each client and pet’s condition upon arrival
  • Determine urgency between stat and standard emergencies
  • Respond to non-patient calls and connect them to the appropriate team member
  • Confirm all appointments and provide accurate client information
  • Provide emotional support and resource materials to grieving clients
  • Serve as liaison between clients and service agencies during handling of pet remains
