The Overnight Valet Attendant position at Embassy Suites by Hilton Buffalo provides a rewarding opportunity for individuals passionate about automobiles and delivering outstanding customer service. This part-time role primarily entails safely moving and parking guest vehicles in the hotel’s parking structure, requiring adherence to stringent safety practices and efficient handling of all valet-related operations. Job Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Evidence of insurability
  • High school degree or equivalent preferred
  • Employment experience in the hospitality industry preferred
  • CPR certification and/or First Aid training preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to safely operate vehicles with automatic or manual transmissions
  • Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift and carry luggage and use wheeled assistance for moving bags
  • Proficiency with hotel computer software and record-keeping systems
  • Ability to work a 24/7 business environment

Job Duties

  • Promptly answer valet phone using positive and clear communication
  • Verbally arrange and confirm parking valet requests from guests and make appropriate bell desk service arrangements
  • Ticket vehicles with guest name, room number, car license, make/model, charge amount and length of stay
  • Maintain accurate logs of keys and complete required valet parking log sheets and reports
  • Operate vehicles safely to deliver vehicles to and from the parking garage or approved designated parking areas
  • Assist door attendants in opening car doors and loading/unloading luggage for smooth traffic flow
  • Keep the parking area, hotel lobby, and breakfast buffet clean including emptying trash cans
  • Support other departments during downtime including sweeping, mopping, folding towels, and changing light bulbs
  • Respond accurately to general inquiries about hotel services and attractions
  • Provide support during check-in and check-out processes by answering inquiries and escorting guests
  • Maintain cleanliness of guest vehicles and ensure they are returned as found
  • Report any maintenance defects, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries
  • Follow PPE requirements and safety procedures, and act appropriately in emergency situations
  • Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance
  • Promote a hospitable service atmosphere at all times
