US0310 Pallisades Ranch, Inc. is part of Sysco Corporation, a global leader in foodservice distribution with over 71,000 colleagues and more than 13,000 vehicles operating across approximately 333 distribution facilities worldwide. Sysco serves over 700,000 customer locations, providing high-quality food products and service support to diverse clientele including restaurants, healthcare and educational facilities, and hospitality businesses. Sysco's commitment to innovation, sustainability, and community support establishes it as a trusted partner in the foodservice industry. The company offers numerous opportunities for personal and professional growth, fostering an inclusive environment where hard-working and talented individuals can thrive and contribute to the organization’s success.
Sysco is currently seeking a dedicated Sanitation Technician to join the US0310 Pallisades Ranch, Inc. team located in zip code 90058. This role is full-time with compensation ranging from $15.87 to $23.85 per hour, depending on skills, experience, and other factors. Employees may also be eligible for participation in the company’s incentive plan. Benefits information is accessible through Sysco’s benefits portal.
The Sanitation Technician plays a critical role in maintaining hygiene and safety standards within a Sysco Specialty Meat Group (SSMG) facility. The primary responsibility involves performing thorough cleaning and sanitation of plant equipment and processing areas, ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory sanitation requirements. This position requires active involvement in sanitation documentation, environmental sampling, and adherence to HACCP programs, Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures, pest control methods, good manufacturing practices, and chemical controls.
Daily duties include preparing and executing cleaning plans to support routine and ongoing operations, mixing and applying caustic chemicals safely and accurately, and conducting inspections using bacterial and organic material tests to verify cleanliness of the production environment. Accurate documentation is essential as paperwork is subject to federal regulatory reviews and is critical to maintaining FSQA program compliance.
The role occasionally requires assisting with plant audits and providing emergency support as directed by plant leadership. Candidates with a background in meat, seafood, or food manufacturing sanitation are preferred, especially those with experience in federally inspected raw meat or seafood processing plants or ready-to-eat processing facilities.
Candidates should possess the ability to read and write basic English for completing paperwork related to sanitation. Knowledge of processing equipment dismantlement for cleaning, industrial cleaning equipment, and basic arithmetic skills are essential. The position involves physical demands such as standing, walking, kneeling, lifting up to 100 pounds, and working in a cold and damp environment prevalent in meat or seafood processing plants. Sensory abilities including close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus are necessary to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Sysco promotes an inclusive work environment and is an equal opportunity employer committed to affirmative action. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. This opportunity represents a chance to join a globally respected company dedicated to excellence in foodservice distribution and customer satisfaction, with a strong emphasis on employee well-being and corporate responsibility.
