Job Description

E.A. Sween is a respected family-owned company with a strong culture and a commitment to delivering fresh food products to convenience stores with safety and efficiency. Established as a leader in food delivery logistics, E.A. Sween prides itself on providing consistent, reliable service while fostering a supportive and growth-oriented workplace for its employees. Recognized for its dedication to quality and service, the company operates with a mission to ensure fresh and timely delivery of sandwiches, milk, bread, bakery items, and other perishable goods to retail locations. Employees at E.A. Sween enjoy a supportive environment paired with opportunities for career advancement, competitive compensation, and robust benefits.

The role of Overnight Route Driver at E.A. Sween is designed for individuals who thrive in active, hands-on roles that blend driving with physical tasks and customer service. This position is essential in the company's operational flow, responsible for driving a 26 ft box truck along assigned overnight routes to safely and accurately deliver food products to convenience stores. The driver is entrusted with ensuring each delivery is handled professionally, maintaining a high standard of accuracy and care of products throughout the process. This role requires more than just driving; drivers actively unload products, verify orders, utilize tablets for delivery check-ins, pick up empty trays, and complete paperwork accurately.

In addition to delivery duties, the Overnight Route Driver performs pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, keeps the truck clean, and promptly reports any maintenance issues to ensure operational reliability. This position operates in a variety of environments, including warehouse conditions ranging from 38 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit and various outdoor weather conditions. The schedule is overnight, and the role requires availability on weekends and holidays, demonstrating flexibility and commitment. The hourly rate for this role is $23.50, reflective of the demanding and active nature of the work.

Working as an Overnight Route Driver provides a dynamic and physically engaging job for those who prefer not to remain seated throughout their workday. This independent role encourages self-motivation and responsibility while supporting the company's goal of delivering quality food products efficiently and reliably. If you value safety, dependability, and an active work environment, E.A. Sween offers a welcoming team atmosphere and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, paid holidays, a 401(k) plan with company match, life insurance, disability coverage, tuition reimbursement, and employee recognition programs. These benefits align with E.A. Sween's commitment to supporting their employees' well-being and professional growth.
