This full-time, non-management Housekeeping position is based at the luxurious St. Regis hotel located at Two East 55th Street at Fifth Avenue in New York City, offering a competitive hourly wage ranging from $31.78 to $42.38. The role focuses on maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards across public and employee areas to deliver a pristine environment that meets the high standards expected from guests and staff alike. Responsibilities include cleaning restrooms and showers, glass surfaces, floors, dusting furniture, emptying trash, and inspecting furniture for damage. Employees in this role also ensure maintenance of lighting and proper posting of caution signs to promote safety. Strong communication skills are needed to respond promptly to guest requests and collaborate with other departments for urgent repairs or maintenance issues. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to move, lift, and manipulate various objects safely throughout the work shift. Additionally, employees must follow company safety and security policies strictly, including proper handling and storage of flammable materials and completion of mandatory safety trainings. Job Duties

  • Clean public and employee restrooms and showers
  • clean glass in public and employee areas
  • clean floor surfaces using designated chemicals, supplies, and equipment
  • dust surfaces in assigned area
  • empty trash containers, ashtrays, and ash urns
  • inspect condition of furniture and report damages
  • clean and maintain lights
  • post caution signs to limit traffic when necessary
  • contact other departments for urgent repairs
  • respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments
  • identify and report maintenance issues in public areas or guest rooms
  • follow company safety and security policies
  • report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries
