The role currently being offered is an entry-level position providing overnight production support within Whole Foods Market’s retail environment. This role involves comprehensive product preparation, merchandising, stocking, display, and counter service responsibilities. Essential to the position is delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining cleanliness, and upholding food safety and quality standards. The team member will learn and perform various functions from cutting and preparing fruits and vegetables to baking and cooking items following established recipes and specifications. They will also be responsible for ensuring that all products meet Whole Foods Market's stringent quality guidelines and that the department operates in compliance with health and safety regulations.

Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • able to stand or walk for 6-8 hours during an 8-hour shift
  • hand use including single grasping and fine manipulation
  • work involves bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
  • exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals
  • ability to work in temperatures ranging from freezing to above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • able to work in wet and dry conditions
  • flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • able to use tools such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
  • may require use of ladders
  • no prior retail experience required

Job Duties

  • Prepares products for display and sale including cutting fruits and vegetables, measuring and mixing raw materials, forming food items
  • labels, dates, covers, and rotates prepared product
  • bakes, cooks, or prepares products following Whole Foods Market guidelines
  • ensures cleanliness of merchandising areas, storage walk-ins, freezers, and food preparation areas
  • maintains sweep logs and continuous cleaning
  • provides excellent customer service and addresses customer needs promptly
  • maximizes sales potential through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising
  • follows health and safety regulations including Weights and Measures and sanitation standards
  • performs opening, mid, and closing duties and ensures accuracy of signs and pricing
  • reports safety hazards immediately
  • performs other duties as assigned by leadership
