Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- able to stand or walk for 6-8 hours during an 8-hour shift
- hand use including single grasping and fine manipulation
- work involves bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
- exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals
- ability to work in temperatures ranging from freezing to above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
- able to work in wet and dry conditions
- flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- able to use tools such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
- may require use of ladders
- no prior retail experience required
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- passion for natural foods and Whole Foods Market mission
- strong communication skills and ability to work as a team
- basic computer skills
- understanding of merchandising standards and spoilage impact on profits
- ability to follow directions and organizational skills
- willingness to learn and meet customer service standards
- ability to work in fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency
- compliance with Whole Foods Market quality goals
Job Duties
- Prepares products for display and sale including cutting fruits and vegetables, measuring and mixing raw materials, forming food items
- labels, dates, covers, and rotates prepared product
- bakes, cooks, or prepares products following Whole Foods Market guidelines
- ensures cleanliness of merchandising areas, storage walk-ins, freezers, and food preparation areas
- maintains sweep logs and continuous cleaning
- provides excellent customer service and addresses customer needs promptly
- maximizes sales potential through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising
- follows health and safety regulations including Weights and Measures and sanitation standards
- performs opening, mid, and closing duties and ensures accuracy of signs and pricing
- reports safety hazards immediately
- performs other duties as assigned by leadership
