The Hyatt Regency San Francisco Downtown SOMA, a part of Highgate's portfolio, is an ultra-chic hotel situated in the vibrant South of Market district. Offering 686 guestrooms, this hotel is perfectly located within walking distance of premier shopping destinations like Union Square, designer boutiques, and cultural hotspots such as Chinatown, Fisherman’s Wharf, and the Mission District. The hotel is known for its stylish design and outstanding service, catering to both leisure and business travelers. The position of Overnight Operations Manager at Hyatt Regency San Francisco Downtown SOMA is a pivotal role that requires a dynamic leader responsible for enhancing operational productivity and efficiency during overnight shifts. The manager will assist both the Director and Assistant Director of Front Office and provide vital support across other hotel departments including Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and Engineering.
The Overnight Operations Manager is tasked with ensuring a strong presence in the lobby to support front desk agents and guests, managing all aspects of shift coverage including Food & Beverage operations, and maintaining the integrity of hotel areas such as the lobby, mezzanine level, and food and beverage outlets to Paramount standards of cleanliness and guest safety. Additional responsibilities include managing room inventory, monitoring adherence to the Nor1 upsell program, swiftly addressing guest requests and complaints, handling employee payroll and attendance using tools such as ADP, coaching and disciplining hourly associates, and conducting essential Night Audit functions. This leadership role also requires participation in management meetings and ongoing training to maintain high levels of morale and operational excellence. Candidates are expected to communicate effectively with guests and staff, multitask under pressure, and uphold Highgate Hotels' standards and protocols meticulously. This role demands commitment to long hours and a service-oriented approach to foster a superior guest experience and promote team productivity.

Job Requirements
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field
- or a 2-year college degree and minimum 3 years of progressive experience in a related field
- or a 4-year degree and minimum 1 year of progressive experience
- previous supervisory responsibilities
- proficiency in Windows and company-approved spreadsheets and word processing
- effective communication skills
- ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Assist the Director and Assistant Director of Front Office with managing the Front Office operation
- provide support to other departments including Food & Beverage, Housekeeping and Engineering
- provide strong lobby presence to assist front desk agents and guests
- manage all aspects of shift coverage in Food & Beverage operations as needed
- balance the hotel room type inventory
- ensure all areas of the lobby, mezzanine level and Food & Beverage operations meet Paramount standards including cleanliness and guest safety
- monitor and implement the Nor1 upsell program
- handle guest special requests and customer complaints
- perform front desk duties
- investigate and handle complaints, disturbances, and emergencies during shifts
- manage employee payroll and track attendance with ADP
- coach, train, and counsel hourly associates and administer discipline
- perform Night Audit functions and produce related reports
- prepare, copy, and distribute required reports
- handle special guest requests
- attend and contribute to meetings to promote morale, productivity and efficiency
- participate in Manager on Duty coverage as required
