The current opportunity is for a Housekeeper position at the Pacific Monarch hotel in Honolulu, HI. This role is crucial in maintaining cleanliness and propriety across guest rooms and public areas, directly impacting guest satisfaction and operational revenue. The Housekeeper is responsible for preparing rooms to the company’s standards, ensuring every corner of the hotel presents a pristine, welcoming environment. Responsibilities include cleaning various surfaces, replenishing room amenities, inspecting equipment functionalities, and reporting maintenance issues promptly. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or secondary qualification
  • Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham or cleaning standards
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning principles and use of cleaning products
  • Ability to see minute debris and dirt and read written instructions
  • Upper body strength to lift up to 50lbs throughout an 8 hour shift
  • Dexterity to push, pull and move equipment and furniture during shifts
  • Ability to work with arms raised above head for extended periods
  • Ability to maneuver maid carts up to 50lbs through hallways and closets
  • Experience handling basic cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, commercial washers and dryers
  • Willingness to work in environments with exposure to hazardous chemicals
  • Comfortable with prolonged physical activity in climate-controlled settings and heat/humidity in laundry
  • Flexible schedule availability including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Clean and prepare guest rooms and public areas to meet established standards
  • Retrieve items from shelves and maintain cleaning carts and storerooms
  • Clean windows, doors, walls, closets, and fixtures including hard-to-reach areas
  • Wash shower walls, tubs, toilets, mirrors, and sinks ensuring sanitary conditions
  • Replace towels, soaps, room amenities and restock literature
  • Wash hard floor areas by hand
  • Dust and polish furniture, fixtures and wall hangings
  • Strip and remake beds with fresh linens, inspecting bedding for cleanliness
  • Check closets and restock guest supplies
  • Vacuum rooms, public areas and hallways including under furniture
  • Inspect door and window locks for security and report issues
  • Inspect room equipment such as TVs and lamps, reporting maintenance needs
  • Secure and maintain custody of equipment and supplies
  • Maintain a friendly and courteous demeanor
  • Assist laundry department with soiled linen processing
  • Clean patio and balcony areas
  • Provide assistance to other employees and departments as needed
