Our community is actively seeking a Facility Operations Assistant to join our team. This role is integral to ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our residents, guests, and team members alike. The Facility Operations Assistant is responsible for performing various routine maintenance duties covering the repair and upkeep of buildings, grounds, apartment homes, equipment, and vehicles. These tasks are conducted efficiently with cost management in mind, supporting the overall aesthetic and functional quality of our community. Routine responsibilities include minor repair work such as fixing wall and floor coverings, repairing furniture and fixtures, basic plumbing, minor electrical work, appliance repair, as well as painting and refurbishing projects. Moreover, the role assists in preventative maintenance programs and supports the operation and maintenance of HVAC systems, domestic water systems, refrigeration units, electrical systems, emergency generators, and environmental safety systems.
In addition to hands-on maintenance, the Facility Operations Assistant performs deep cleaning and makes resident suites ready for new occupants as part of the residency transition process. They are involved in property and security walks to maintain community safety, attend to service calls from residents promptly, and contribute to fire safety and disaster preparedness drills. This position requires a reliable individual who can manage multiple priorities independently and work collaboratively with other teams to uphold building standards and safety protocols. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- One year maintenance and/or housekeeping experience preferred
- Basic technical knowledge such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and code compliance
- Mechanical ability to perform routine maintenance and repair on mechanical and electrical equipment
- Basic knowledge of construction principles
- General understanding of OSHA, fire prevention, life and safety regulations
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and work independently
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Assist with maintaining a safe, clean and comfortable environment for residents, guests and team members
- Perform routine maintenance duties including repair of walls, floor coverings, furniture, fixtures, plumbing, electrical, appliances, painting and refurbishing projects
- Assist in executing preventative maintenance programs
- Work on heating and air conditioning systems, domestic water systems and pumps, refrigeration systems, motors, fans, electrical systems and emergency generators
- Perform carpet and hard surface floor maintenance
- Perform deep cleaning and make resident suites ready
- Assist with fire safety and disaster preparedness evacuation procedures
- Clean common areas
- Perform property and security walks
- Manage calls of service or residents
