The Facility Operations Assistant is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment by performing routine maintenance and repair duties efficiently and cost-effectively. This may involve fixing wall and floor coverings, repairing furniture, appliances, and fixtures, carrying out plumbing and electrical repairs, and assisting with heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, and other mechanical systems. Additionally, the role includes deep cleaning, carpet and hard surface maintenance, managing service calls, and assisting with fire safety and disaster preparedness procedures. This position demands a hands-on individual with basic technical knowledge and mechanical ability, capable of working independently while handling multiple priorities. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year maintenance or housekeeping experience preferred
  • Basic technical knowledge such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and code compliance
  • Mechanical ability to perform routine maintenance and repair
  • Basic knowledge of construction principles
  • General understanding of OSHA, fire prevention, life and safety regulations
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and work independently

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Assist with maintaining a safe, clean and comfortable environment for residents, guests and team members
  • Perform routine maintenance duties including fixing wall and floor coverings, repairing furniture and fixtures, basic plumbing, minor electrical repairs, repairing appliances, painting and refurbishing projects
  • Assist in executing the preventative maintenance program
  • Work on heating and air conditioning systems, domestic water systems and pumps, refrigeration systems, motors, fans, electrical systems and emergency generators
  • Perform carpet and hard surface floor maintenance
  • Perform deep cleaning and resident suite 'make ready' rooms
  • Assist with fire safety and disaster preparedness evacuation procedures
  • Clean common areas
  • Perform property and security walks
  • Manage calls of service or residents
