Job Description

Delaware North Gaming is a renowned hospitality and gaming company that operates globally with over a century of experience. At the heart of its operations is the commitment to providing exceptional experiences for guests, leveraging a heritage rooted in family ownership and values. Delaware North Gaming manages a diverse portfolio of venues including iconic sports arenas, luxurious hotels, national parks, restaurants, and casinos. This makes it a dynamic employer that offers various career paths and growth opportunities for its team members. One of its notable operations in New York is Hamburg Gaming, located at the Erie County Fairgrounds in Hamburg near Buffalo. Hamburg Gaming features 940 gaming machines spread across the main floor and an outdoor gaming patio, providing both recreational and entertainment opportunities for the local community and visitors alike.

The role of a part-time Cage Cashier at Delaware North Gaming in Hamburg, New York, offers an engaging opportunity to join a vital part of the casino and gaming environment. As a Cage Cashier, you will be responsible for handling large amounts of currency, cashing checks, redeeming tickets, vouchers, and chips presented by guests. This role requires a high level of accuracy, trustworthiness, and customer service skills, as you will be one of the key points of contact for patrons seeking monetary transactions within the gaming facility. Shift hours primarily fall in the overnight range, starting anywhere between 4:00 PM and 4:30 AM, including weekends and holidays, which emphasizes flexibility as a valued attribute in candidates.

The position offers hourly pay starting from $16.00 to $16.75, not including potential earnings from tips, making it a competitive role in the hospitality gaming sector. Employees will be offered shift differential pay between midnight and 6:00 AM. With comprehensive training provided, some sessions might occur during mid-shift hours from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM to accommodate the onboarding process. Delaware North stands out for its investment in team member wellness through a benefits package designed to cover physical, financial, and professional needs, which extends to part-time employees.

The Cage Cashier’s duties are varied and integral to smooth gaming floor operations. Responsibilities include processing vouchers accurately, approving and cashing checks, and distributing cash for jackpots and hand-pays. Meticulous record keeping and following established policies ensure accountability and compliance with gaming regulations. The role is well suited to individuals with intermediate computer skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced, often noisy gaming environment.

In addition to competitive pay and tips, Delaware North offers weekly pay, employee discounts, flexible scheduling, and ongoing training and development opportunities. The inclusive work culture at Delaware North promotes equal opportunity and recognizes the importance of diversity in the workplace, aligning with their values of integrity and respect. Whether you are just starting your career in gaming and hospitality or seeking a flexible part-time position with growth potential, the Cage Cashier role at Hamburg Gaming provides a supportive environment and rewarding work experience.
