Job Description

SSP America is a leading operator of food and beverage outlets in travel locations such as airports, train stations, and other major transit hubs across the United States and globally. This role is for an overnight Barista to be stationed at SSP America’s coffee shops inside Phoenix International Airport. This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage of $26.95 plus tips, with numerous attractive benefits including two weeks of paid vacation, referral bonuses, and employer-covered 95% of benefits. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on guest service and quality beverage preparation.

As an overnight Barista, you will be the face of the coffee shop during the overnight hours, greeting guests with a friendly demeanor and ensuring their experience is positive from start to finish. You will process orders using the point-of-sale system, prepare and serve a diverse selection of hot, cold, and frozen beverages alongside a variety of food items. Accuracy in taking and fulfilling orders is paramount, as is adherence to established recipes and portion controls, so every beverage and dish meets the company’s high-quality standards.

The role also involves maintaining cleanliness according to health and safety standards through regular cleaning tasks and completing opening and closing checklists to ensure the coffee shop is fully operational for the next shift. Job Qualifications

  • basic mathematical skills to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops
  • ability to remember, recite, and promote a variety of menu items
  • ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check
  • ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods

Job Duties

  • Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner
  • process orders and enter them accurately into the POS system
  • receive payment from the customer and process change
  • serve cold, frozen, and hot drinks as well as a wide variety of food items to guests
  • follow all recipes and practice portion control to prepare, garnish, and present ordered items
  • complete opening, on-going, and closing checklists as required
  • perform general and specific cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards
  • other duties as assigned
