The role of a Team Member at Applegreen is a full-time position designed for individuals who thrive in dynamic, customer-focused environments. This position is central to delivering an outstanding travel plaza experience by ensuring that every traveler receives exceptional customer service, quality food, and a clean and organized environment. As a Team Member, your responsibilities will include engaging positively with customers to create friendly and helpful interactions, operating point-of-sale (POS) systems accurately, and efficiently processing payments while adhering to all customer service and cash handling policies. You will also be entrusted with maintaining proper food handling standards by accurately wrapping, labeling, dating, stocking, storing, rotating, and checking temperatures of food products to ensure safety and quality.

In addition to front-of-house duties, Team Members will participate in various kitchen tasks including food preparation, thawing, cooking, packaging, wrapping, and cleaning, demonstrating versatility and a commitment to maintaining a hygienic and organized workspace. Additional responsibilities include stocking, cleaning, and sanitizing workstations and equipment, cross-selling and up-selling products to enhance the customer experience and drive sales, and maintaining comprehensive knowledge of all products and services offered within the plaza. Furthermore, you will be required to consistently follow required brand standards, food safety regulations, and all company policies and procedures to uphold the high standards expected by Applegreen and its brand partners. Job Requirements

  • Able to stand and walk for an extended period of time
  • frequently bend, twist, lift and carry at least 40 pounds
  • requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with customers
  • available to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality, with or without reasonable accommodation

  • Demonstrates the ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner
  • cash handling and customer service experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Consistently provide friendly customer service by engaging in positive, helpful interactions with customers
  • operate point-of-sale (POS) system, accurately process and receive payment from customers, and follow all customer service and cash handling policies and procedures
  • ensure proper food handling procedures are followed including wrapping, labelling, dating, stocking, storing, rotating, and checking temperature of products
