Job Description
ABM is one of the world’s largest providers of facility services and solutions, committed to creating cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environments. Founded in 1909, ABM serves over 20,000 clients worldwide, with annualized revenue approaching $8 billion and a team of more than 100,000 employees across 350 offices in the United States, United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, and other international locations. Their comprehensive services cover a vast range of industries including commercial office buildings, universities, airports, hospitals, data centers, manufacturing plants, distribution centers, and entertainment venues, among others. ABM's service portfolio spans janitorial, engineering, parking, electrical and lighting, energy and electric vehicle charging infrastructure, HVAC and mechanical, landscape and turf, and mission critical solutions.
This position offers an hourly pay starting at $27.10, with actual pay adjusted based on an applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and market data alignment. ABM also provides a comprehensive benefits package, enhancing employee satisfaction and well-being.
The role is primarily focused on managing client relationships and ensuring the highest standards of facility services. As a site supervisory position, the candidate will serve as the main point-of-contact for client liaisons, regularly meeting with them to ensure quality standards are met and any service concerns are resolved quickly. The role demands leadership skills to support and guide janitorial and porter staff on-site, including during emergency and off-hour situations while promoting a strong culture of safety. Training staff in the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), safe equipment operation, and cleaning protocols – including green cleaning standards when applicable – is a key responsibility.
Effective scheduling and work assignment are necessary to meet service delivery expectations on time. The supervisor shall also monitor employee timekeeping for compliance with work schedules and company policies. This role involves arranging staff substitutions or personally taking on tasks when employee absences could delay contracted work. The supervisor will contribute to business growth opportunities by identifying chances to increase revenue through additional billable projects within both new and existing client bases.
Given the emphasis on safety, the supervisor will implement and enforce building and property security protocols, ensuring proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals in line with SDS and OSHA standards. Strong organizational skills, multi-tasking ability, and excellent communication skills are essential, as is the capability to handle confidential information discreetly. The ideal candidate will bring at least two years of supervisory experience, preferably within the commercial cleaning industry, with proven effectiveness in team management, staff retention, and development.
ABM is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion, providing reasonable accommodations as needed. As a military-friendly employer, ABM offers world-class training programs and opportunities for veterans transitioning into civilian careers, supporting a positive and resourceful team environment. Candidates interested in contributing to a respected leader in facility services are encouraged to apply online at ABM’s official website.
This detailed role is ideal for individuals with a high school diploma or GED who are proficient in MS Office applications, hold a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, and have the interpersonal skills required to foster strong client and team relationships. Those who excel in this role will find a rewarding career path within ABM’s vast network and be part of a company dedicated to making a meaningful impact on the spaces and places that matter most.
