The role of Outside Sales Associate in the Atlanta, GA territory involves working under the direction of the District Manager to drive rentals and sales of welding equipment, power generation devices, and weld automation solutions. This position requires managing comprehensive sales processes including following leads, making presentations, preparing quotations, maintaining relevant literature, and providing customer follow-ups. The position offers a base salary with commission, monthly auto allowance, and involves approximately 50% travel within the assigned territory.
Key responsibilities for this position include developing and expanding the end user customer base through sound communication, needs assessment, and solution recommendations. Equipment demonstrations and application recommendations for welding and positioning equipment are crucial aspects of the day-to-day activities. The Outside Sales Associate must also build long-term supply relationships through contracts or agreements and contribute as a team member to delivering customer solutions. The role involves meeting or exceeding rental and sales goals, representing Airgas at trade shows and association meetings, compiling lists of prospective customers using diverse sources, and maintaining accurate, timely sales reports and expenses.
This role demands a focus on maintaining a safe work environment according to Airgas/Red-D-Arc’s health and safety standards. The employee might also provide back-up coverage at branch locations during absences and perform other related duties as needed. Job Requirements
- minimum post secondary education equivalent to a diploma in business management or equivalent
- must have leadership skills to guide and mentor associates, delegate and follow-up effectively
- must be able to communicate effectively and build relationships
- capable of working independently while making decisions based on company policies and objectives
- strong problem-solving skills to proactively and methodically manage conflicting goals and challenging situations
- valid driver’s license
