This role primarily supports the Community Relations Department by facilitating outreach efforts and representing the Center at public events in Hamilton and McMinn counties. The specialist will coordinate community tabling events, build partnerships with social and civic organizations, and help design marketing content and promotional activities. This is an in-person, hourly role with a starting salary of approximately $22.87 per hour, requiring flexible work hours that include some nights and weekends. The position is based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, but involves frequent travel to local community events and the central office in Knoxville for meetings and training. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication and organizational skills, be comfortable managing multiple projects, and have experience with marketing and social media content creation. Adobe design product experience is preferred but not mandatory. This role not only allows direct community interaction but also supports awareness campaigns and volunteer coordination efforts, contributing significantly to the Center's mission of helping others and saving lives. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in communications, marketing or related field
- Highly organized with strong communication skills
- Basic competency in office applications such as Word and Excel
- Knowledge of marketing and promotional activities including content creation and social media monitoring
- Ability to travel frequently to Hamilton County, McMinn County, and Knoxville, TN
- Comfortable working some nights and weekends
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 150 lbs
- Exposure to biological hazards
- Hearing of normal and soft tones
- Ability to perform close eye work
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping and reaching
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing or related field

Job Duties
- Coordinate outreach and community tabling events including scheduling, communication, and packing supplies
- Represent the McNabb Center at tabling and outreach events
- Build relationships and develop partnerships with individuals and social, civic and local organizations for volunteer purposes
- Attend community events to recruit volunteers and raise awareness
- Respond to community requests for speakers and coordinate speaking engagements with program staff
- Serve as point of contact for partner agencies and Chamber organizations in Hamilton and McMinn counties
- Manage Community Relations aspects of awareness events including marketing and day-of support
- Coordinate short-term volunteer projects and manage volunteers from initial contact to completion
- Record and track Center-related volunteer hours
- Assist with marketing and promotional activities including content creation and social media monitoring
- Support Center events such as ribbon cuttings and groundbreakings as needed
