The role of Outpatient Care Coordinator at Hoag Health Center is pivotal in ensuring the smooth scheduling and management of outpatient care services. Job Requirements

high school diploma or equivalent
2+ years of patient access or related healthcare experience
strong knowledge in hospital scheduling registration and insurance verification processes
current BLS certification required for HMG – Prime and Digestive

2+ years of patient access or related healthcare experience
strong knowledge in hospital scheduling registration and insurance verification processes
2-3 years hospital or outpatient-based patient care coordination experience preferred
knowledge and understanding of patient benefits plan coverage and claim responsibility preferred
hospitality or concierge experience preferred for Hoag Health Center – Jamboree
2-3 years of medical assistant back-office experience preferred for HMG – Prime
current BLS certification required for HMG – Prime and Digestive
limited phlebotomy certification and medical assistant certification preferred for HMG – Prime

Job Duties

assist with scheduling tests and treatments including coordinating multiple appointments amongst different departments programs and specialties
perform insurance verification
assist with pre-authorization process
act as liaison between pre-authorization team physician office and patient
provide updates to patients and doctors on timing and status of authorizations
provide patients with itinerary after appointments are scheduled
assist with referrals as requested
link family or patient to resources as needed
perform other duties as assigned
