The Server position at Hard Rock Cafe plays a crucial role in delivering an outstanding guest experience. Reporting directly to the Supervisor, Servers are tasked with providing personalized, attentive service to ensure every guest's needs are met efficiently and professionally. This position requires a multi-tasking individual who can manage priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a pleasant and courteous demeanor. Servers should demonstrate a keen ability to handle guest requests, navigate unexpected situations smoothly, and offer intuitive service that consistently impresses VIP guests. Alongside serving meals, the Server must be well-informed about all casino facilities, special events, and local attractions to engage in meaningful conversation while preserving guest confidentiality.
The role involves a variety of responsibilities including greeting guests, taking and serving food and beverage orders, presenting menus, making course and drink suggestions, and maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of dining areas. It also involves collaborating closely with bussers and other team members for smooth operation, from setting and clearing tables to stocking service stations. Maintaining sanitation standards in accordance with state law and company policies is a critical component of the role. The Server will also be accountable for ensuring compliance with company operational standards and contributing to profit maximization through effective cost control.

Job Requirements
- Must be able to obtain valid Food Handlers or Bassett certification as required
- must have Illinois Gaming license
- willing to work flexible schedule
- ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
- must be at least 18 years of age
- must be able to stand 50% of shift, walk 45% of shift, and sit 5% of shift
- related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalency preferred
- two years’ guest service experience in family or formal dining environment
- casino food and beverage experience strongly preferred
- good communication skills and friendly personable attitude
- ability to read and write English
- knowledge of table service procedures and table etiquette
- ability to work professionally with team members from all departments
Job Duties
- Create an atmosphere that induces guests to choose Hard Rock Casino Rockford for gaming entertainment
- actively build and retain guest relations and mentor team members to provide superior guest service
- greet each guest and provide superior guest service for all company food and beverage operations
- maintain pleasant and courteous attitude
- complete all opening and closing duties
- assist bussers in setting tables with clean dishes, glasses, and flatware according to approved guest service procedures
- present the menu to guests, suggest courses and appropriate drinks, and answer questions regarding food preparation
- offer drinks and take food and beverage orders
- have basic knowledge of all house and call liquor
- serve meals to patrons according to established rules or etiquette
- check for quality after each course
- refill all drinks when needed
- maintain clean ashtrays
- buss tables as needed
- remove all dirty dishes and glassware from guests' tables during and after each course
- total bills, present checks, collect settlement, and take payment to cashier
- assist bussers in clearing tables and dirty dishes, glasses, and flatware in accordance with approved guest service procedures
- transport dish cart to and from service station/steward’s station
- stock server stations with all necessary items
- assist bussers in maintaining cleanliness of all public areas including carpeted and tiled floors, furniture, and waitress stations
- re-supply provisions on guest tables, venue areas, and waitress stations including backup glasses, silverware, and dishes
- adhere to sanitation standards as outlined by State law and company
- maximize profit and guest satisfaction through effective cost controls
- adhere to all three-star standards
- work considerately with team members from all departments
- check out with supervisor before leaving at the end of shift
- perform other departmental duties and assignments as directed by management
