Job Description

Hotel Indigo, managed by Columbia Hospitality, Inc., is a boutique hotel located in the heart of the Port of Everett's Waterfront Place redevelopment. The hotel features 142 comfortable rooms, over 8,000 square feet of versatile event space, and the Jetty Bar & Grille, which offers a seafood menu inspired by the Pacific Northwest. Surrounded by picturesque parks, residential areas, restaurants, and docks, Hotel Indigo blends urban convenience with scenic waterfront charm. Columbia Hospitality is a nationally recognized management and consulting company with over 25 years of expertise in hospitality, operating a diverse portfolio that includes award-winning hotels, resorts, restaurants, golf clubs, residential communities, and conference centers. They are known for fostering a people-first culture anchored in values such as accountability, creativity, enthusiasm, honesty, inclusion, and respect. The company has been repeatedly honored as one of the Top Companies to Work for in Washington, thanks to its commitment to creating dynamic, fun, and supportive work environments.

The role of the Outlet Captain at Hotel Indigo is a vital leadership position within the Food and Beverage (F&B) Department. This role involves hands-on participation in daily service and supporting operational oversight to guarantee a seamless service experience for guests. The Outlet Captain acts as a key link between front-of-house and back-of-house teams, ensuring that service standards are consistently upheld and guest satisfaction remains at the highest possible level. The position carries a responsibility not only for direct service tasks such as hosting, bussing, or bartending but also for supervising and mentoring staff, facilitating daily operational coordination, and maintaining compliance with safety, health, and quality regulations.

The Outlet Captain supports the F&B Department by carrying out routine operational duties while also actively participating in guest service on the floor. This includes managing POS system discounts and voids, approving open item pricing, mediating between FOH and BOH during service, and ensuring the visual appeal and consistency of all food and beverage presentations as ordered. Additionally, the Captain responds promptly to guest inquiries and resolves complaints efficiently, escalating issues when necessary. This leadership role requires multitasking in a fast-paced environment and the ability to adapt to changing business demands by providing support across multiple service areas. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in a similar restaurant environment, with preferred experience in upscale or casual fine dining, bartending, and supervisory or leadership responsibilities. Knowledge of modern POS systems, dining and beverage service procedures, and liquor laws is essential. A valid State Food Handler’s License and Liquor Serving Permit are required, as well as meeting the legal age requirements to serve alcohol.

Compensation for this hourly role ranges from $23 to $25 per hour and includes eligibility for tips, with the unique benefit of daily pay. Additional perks include paid time off and holiday pay, comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and disability insurance, a 401K plan, and employer-contributed HSA/FSA plans. Within Columbia Hospitality's values-based culture, employees enjoy a supportive and inclusive working environment, referral bonuses, discounted lodging, dining, spa services, golf, retail, and travel opportunities. There are also employee assistance programs, community volunteer initiatives, committee participation in philanthropic and diversity efforts, plus access to online learning platforms for career growth. This role encourages individuals who may not perfectly align with every qualification to apply, reflecting the company’s dedication to diversity and authentic workplace culture.
