The Host / Hostess at Vinarosa Resort & Spa plays a crucial role in shaping the overall guest experience in the resort's dining venues. As the first and last point of contact for guests dining at the resort’s restaurants and lounges, this position is responsible for creating a warm, organized, and polished atmosphere from arrival through departure. This role is essential in managing reservations, coordinating table seating, and supporting a seamless service flow while upholding a calm and professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment. Hosts are expected to balance exceptional guest hospitality with strong operational awareness, ensuring accurate communication of wait times, optimal table utilization, and flawless coordination between service and leadership teams.
This position requires close collaboration with multiple departments, including service and culinary teams, to maintain service pacing, cleanliness, and adherence to the resort's brand standards. Attention to detail, professionalism, and a guest-first mindset are fundamental to success in this role. The ability to handle guest inquiries courteously, support service recovery when needed, and contribute positively to the guests’ first impressions significantly impacts guest satisfaction and loyalty. The Host / Hostess also undertakes important organizational duties such as managing the cleanliness and order of the host stand and entrance areas and assisting with opening and closing procedures.
Candidates for this role should be adaptable, possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, and be capable of multitasking under pressure while maintaining a composed and respectful presence. Previous experience in hotel, resort, or upscale restaurant hosting is preferred, along with familiarity with reservation and seating systems. Physical stamina is essential as the role requires standing for extended periods and working flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Job Duties
- Greet guests promptly and warmly upon arrival providing a professional and welcoming first impression
- Manage reservations and walk-in traffic using designated reservation and seating systems
- Coordinate table assignments to support proper service pacing and balanced server sections
- Communicate accurate wait times and dining options to guests in a courteous manner
- Monitor dining room flow and collaborate with service staff to optimize table turns
- Maintain awareness of special requests accessibility needs and guest preferences
- Answer phones respond to guest inquiries and provide information about menus and amenities
- Support service recovery efforts by escalating guest concerns to leadership as appropriate
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance areas
- Assist with opening and closing duties including setup breakdown and side work
- Adhere to appearance grooming and professionalism standards at all times
- Follow safety sanitation and workplace conduct guidelines consistently
