Job Description

Team DriveAway is a reputable company specializing in transport solutions across multiple divisions, including Singles, Non-CDL, New Deck, Used Deck, and Boom. As a dedicated player in the transportation industry, Team DriveAway offers unique opportunities for independent contractors to drive over-the-road (OTR) routes nationwide. Unlike traditional company driver roles or owner/operator positions, this opportunity empowers drivers with the flexibility to hand-pick loads that align with their schedules, making it an ideal role for professionals seeking control over their work-life balance.

At the core of Team DriveAway's operations is a commitment to delivering excellent customer service while ensuring driver flexibility and autonomy. Independent Contractors are entrusted with transporting units across varying routes, ranging from 300 to 800 miles, depending on customer needs. While the company’s name includes the word "Team," drivers operate solo and independently, underscoring the company’s focus on individual contractor performance rather than team driving.

The role demands maintaining accurate, daily DOT logs using the MOTIVE app, with strict policies against the use of paper logs, further emphasizing the company’s dedication to compliance and safety standards. Drivers must actively stay engaged by selecting and completing 3 to 5 loads per month and maintaining weekly communication with dispatch, ensuring smooth operation flow and accountability.

Financially, Team DriveAway offers competitive pay, ranging from $0.72 to $1.55 per mile, supplemented by a fuel surcharge across most driving divisions. This pay structure is designed to reward efficiency and dedication while offering Same-Day Pay once all documentation and logs are approved. The company also provides various bonus opportunities, including referral bonuses, clean inspection bonuses, mileage bonuses, load bonuses, and safety bonuses, incentivizing drivers to maintain high safety and performance standards.

The independent contractor role requires individuals to bring their own tools and equipment, particularly for decking and un-decking trucks. The company seeks drivers with a minimum of one year of verifiable over-the-road commercial motor vehicle (CMV) driving experience within the last three years, with special requirements for deck positions requiring additional experience in decking/un-decking and a double/triple endorsement.

Drivers must have valid driving licenses, either Non-CDL or CDL Class A or B, and meet DOT regulations, including maintaining a clean driving record and stable employment history. They should have an in-depth understanding of DOT hours of service (HOS) regulations and be capable of accurate, up-to-date logging throughout their driving day, facilitated through the MOTIVE app. The position demands exceptional punctuality, professional attitude, and consistent submission of paperwork and load documentation, including photo documentation and pre-trip/post-trip inspections.

This Independent Contractor Driving Position is strictly OTR and does not involve local or regional routes, highlighting its suitability for experienced drivers who seek long-haul opportunities with autonomy. While the role does not provide traditional employment benefits typical of salaried positions, the pay structure and bonuses create an attractive compensation package for qualified and motivated professionals looking to leverage their skills in a flexible contractor role.

Overall, Team DriveAway presents a great opportunity for drivers who value flexibility, competitive pay, and the ability to choose their routes while being part of a supportive company that prioritizes compliance and driver success. This position suits independent-minded drivers who are comfortable operating solo, have a commitment to maintaining high safety standards, and are motivated by performance-based incentives.
