Job Description

Team DriveAway is a leading transportation company specializing in driver services across multiple divisions, including Singles, Non-CDL, New Deck, Used Deck, and Boom. As a well-established company in the logistics and transportation industry, Team DriveAway primarily caters to the need for efficient, nationwide over-the-road (OTR) freight transportation services. Operating with a strong commitment to driver flexibility and safety, the company offers Independent Contractor positions rather than traditional company driver or owner/operator roles. This unique employment model allows drivers to maintain control over their schedules by selecting loads that best fit their availability, fulfilling the increasing demand for adaptable yet professional freight hauling services.

The driving force behind Team DriveAway's continued success is its diverse trucking divisions, which accommodate a wide variety of freight needs. Whether it is transporting single units, heavy-duty deck loads, or specialized boom equipment, Team DriveAway supports a comprehensive platform designed for professional drivers who prefer working independently while remaining connected with management via regular communications and load tracking technology. This adaptability invites drivers to work between 2 to 5 loads per month, striking a balance between earning potential and lifestyle preferences.

The role offered is an Independent Contractor Driver position focused on safely and reliably transporting vehicles and equipment nationwide. Applicants gain the flexibility to choose from assignments that range between 300 and 800 miles on average, depending on customer requirements. Notably, the job is strictly a solo driver position - the use of team driving is not utilized here. Drivers are tasked with maintaining a weekly connection with dispatchers, submitting accurate and up-to-date daily Department of Transportation (DOT) logs via the MOTIVE app, and providing detailed photo documentation for each load. Punctuality at pickup and delivery points is essential to uphold the company's standards for customer satisfaction.

Compensation for this position is competitive, with pay ranging from $0.72 to $1.55 per mile plus a fuel surcharge that varies by driving division and load type. Additional incentives include bonuses for clean inspections, mileage, load completion, safety adherence, and referrals, creating multiple opportunities for contractors to boost their earnings. Although this is a 1099 contractor role without traditional company benefits, the compensation structure, combined with the freedom to select schedules, appeals strongly to independent-minded drivers seeking a professional, supportive environment.

The job requires drivers to provide their own tools and equipment for decking and un-decking, as well as the capability to maintain thorough logging and compliance with DOT Hours of Service regulations. Documentation from prior employers and consistent, stable work histories are equally important criteria, alongside clean driving records. Using tracking tools such as MacroPoint for real-time load visibility ensures that the drivers communicate effectively with customers and dispatch teams. Required pre-trip and post-trip inspections guarantee high levels of safety and accountability.

In summary, Team DriveAway offers an attractive opportunity for experienced professional drivers looking for a flexible, well-compensated, and independent role within the transportation sector. This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy operating solo while leveraging technology to maintain strong communication with dispatch and customers. Team DriveAway’s commitment to driver autonomy, competitive pay, and clear expectations makes it a compelling choice for those seeking independent contract driving jobs nationwide.
