Job Description

Barr-Nunn Transportation, founded in 1982, is a reputable dry van truckload carrier known for its commitment to outstanding on-time pickup and delivery services. With a fleet comprising around 600 tractors and approximately 2,150 trailers, Barr-Nunn has established itself as a reliable partner servicing major e-commerce clients and other businesses requiring punctual freight operations. The company prides itself on maintaining an exceptional safety record and award-winning on-time delivery, positioning itself as a stable and profitable enterprise in the competitive transportation industry. Barr-Nunn is dedicated to fostering long-term relationships with its drivers and clients alike, ensuring satisfaction from the very first shipment through to hundreds more in the future. This steadfast dedication to quality and safety has helped build lasting trust within the logistics community.

The current opening is for a solo company truck driver role offering an attractive salary range between $85,000 and $95,000 per year. This position promises a competitive hourly pay rate of 65 to 70 cents per mile depending on experience and endorsements, along with a generous transition bonus and an orientation pay provided on the first paycheck. Drivers can also expect paid flights home or fuel reimbursements for those residing east of I-35 who choose to park their trucks at one of Barr-Nunn's terminals. The route schedule is structured as three weeks on the road followed by one week at home, transporting 100% no-touch freight with full dry van truckloads, minimizing physical handling of cargo for driver convenience and safety.

Barr-Nunn offers many incentives including a hiring bonus that varies depending on whether the driver possesses a HAZMAT endorsement. Other earnings available include stop-off pay, safety bonuses every 90 days, on-road safety bonuses, anniversary bonuses, premium pay when hauling placarded HAZMAT shipments, and higher pay per mile for loads under 400 miles. Orientation pay, detention pay starting after just one hour, and a well-equipped late-model Freightliner Cascadia tractor complemented with amenities such as a TV, microwave, fridge, Sirius XM radio, bedding, and CB radio enhance driver comfort and job satisfaction.

Additionally, Barr-Nunn supports its employees with excellent benefits including medical, dental, and life insurance, a strong 401(k) plan with company match, and an accelerated paid time off system based on miles driven. The company also offers a lucrative referral program along with advanced digital tools to streamline load management and payroll review from mobile devices. The work environment at Barr-Nunn blends modern equipment, safety-first policies, and competitive compensation to make it an outstanding choice for professional truck drivers seeking stability, support, and an opportunity to earn well in a well-respected company.
