Job Description
Barr-Nunn Transportation is a well-established dry van truckload carrier that has been in operation since 1982. With a fleet comprising approximately 600 tractors and about 2,150 trailers, Barr-Nunn is known for providing outstanding on-time pickup and delivery services to major e-commerce customers as well as to other companies that require reliable and timely freight transportation. The company has built a reputation for stability, profitability, and an exceptional safety record, which makes it a trusted name in the trucking industry. Barr-Nunn's commitment to safety and punctuality has earned it awards and a loyal client base, enabling the company to consistently meet the demands of top-tier shippers in a competitive market. As many trucking companies may struggle with consistency, Barr-Nunn takes pride in its long-term presence and ongoing commitment to quality service. This reliability ensures that drivers and customers alike can count on Barr-Nunn for service excellence, whether it is their very first shipment or their five hundredth.
Barr-Nunn Transportation is currently seeking qualified OTR (Over The Road) CDL-A Truck Drivers to join its dynamic team. This is a solo company driver position with a competitive salary range of $85,000 to $95,000 per year. The company offers a generous transition bonus for new drivers, which varies depending on the driver’s endorsements and experience. For example, drivers with a HAZMAT endorsement can earn a transition bonus of $1,525 plus $300 orientation pay on their first check, and additional bonuses up to $650 after 30 days. Those without a HAZMAT endorsement also receive substantial bonuses plus paid time off (PTO). The role involves hauling 100% no-touch freight under full dry van truckload conditions, ensuring a straightforward and less physically demanding work environment. The schedule is structured as a run for 21 days followed by 7 days of home time, a balance offering drivers extended time at home and opportunity for earnings on the road. Additionally, Barr-Nunn provides paid flights home or reimbursed fuel for some regions, enhancing driver convenience and work-life balance.
Drivers will enjoy operating well-equipped, late-model Freightliner Cascadia tractors with modern 53' Wabash trailers fitted with tracking and cargo sensors, ensuring high safety and operational efficiency. Trucks come standard with amenities such as a TV, microwave, fridge, inverter, free Sirius XM radio, bedding, and CB radio to enhance comfort during long hauls. Barr-Nunn also offers a range of benefits including an excellent 401(k) plan with company match, health insurance through Blue Cross Blue Shield, dental insurance, and free $10,000 life insurance. The company prioritizes driver safety and rewards it through unmatched CSA safety bonuses every 90 days, safety-based pay raises, and anniversary bonuses. Other perks include a lucrative driver referral program, detention pay starting after only one hour, accelerated PTO accumulation, toll pass transponders, weigh station bypass services, and advanced online tools for load management and payroll review using smartphones. With these comprehensive pay packages, benefits, and driver-centric policies, Barr-Nunn Transportation stands out as an employer of choice for experienced CDL-A truck drivers seeking a rewarding driving career.
